Maoming Polytechnic is a public higher vocational college with engineering as its main focus. It is a cultivation unit for the construction of provincial high-level vocational colleges in Guangdong Province and has been awarded the Civilized Campus of Maoming City. Founded in 1986, the college adheres to the school motto of "Cultivating Morality, Strengthening Skills, Seeking Truth and Innovating", adheres to the talent training goal of "Values + Knowledge + Skills + Innovation", and promotes the school spirit of "Hard Work and Self-Improvement", cultivating a large number of high-quality technical and skilled talents for the construction industry, petrochemical industry and local economic and social development.

学校地处中国南方最大的石化生产基地和水果生产基地、建筑之乡、美丽的海滨城市——广东省茂名市，占地面积66.6万平方米（约1000亩），分北校区、南校区、人民南3个校区。现有全日制普通高职在校学生16000余人，开设44个招生专业，其中工科专业32个，占比72.73%。石油化工技术专业群、建筑工程技术专业群获省级高水平专业群立项，石油化工技术专业通过IEET（TAC-AD）专业认证。

The college is located in Maoming City, Guangdong Province, the largest petrochemical production base and fruit production base in southern China, a hometown of construction, and a beautiful coastal city. It covers an area of 666,000 square meters (about 1,000 mu) and has three campuses: North Campus, South Campus and Renmin South Campus. Currently, there are more than 16,000 full-time ordinary vocational college students, offering 44 enrollment majors, including 32 engineering majors, accounting for 72.73%. The petrochemical technology professional group and the construction engineering technology professional group have been approved as provincial high-level professional groups, and the petrochemical technology major has passed the IEET (TAC-AD) professional certification.
