四川交通职业技术学院由四川省人民政府举办，隶属于四川省交通运输厅，是国家示范性高等职业院校、国家优质高等职业院校、国家“双高计划”建设单位，全国文明单位、全国职业教育先进单位，全国首批现代学徒制试点单位、全国首批职业院校数字校园建设试点单位、全国“一站式”学生社区综合管理模式建设试点校，国家级高技能人才培训基地、国家级职业教育“双师型”教师培训基地，四川省“双高计划”建设单位、四川省本科层次职业教育人才培养改革试点院校。

Sichuan Vocational and Technical College of Communications is sponsored by the People's Government of Sichuan Province and affiliated to the Department of Transportation of Sichuan Province. It is a national demonstration higher vocational college, a national high-quality higher vocational college, a construction unit of the national "Double High Plan", a national civilized unit, an advanced unit of national vocational education, one of the first national pilot units for modern apprenticeship system, one of the first national pilot units for digital campus construction in vocational colleges, a pilot school for the comprehensive management mode construction of the national "One-Stop" student community, a national high-skilled talents training base, a national vocational education "Double-qualified" teachers training base, a construction unit of Sichuan Province "Double High Plan", and a pilot college for the reform of talent training in vocational undergraduate education in Sichuan Province.

学院创建于1952年，历经四川省成都交通学校、交通部成都公路工程学校等发展阶段，2001年升格为高等职业技术学院。现设有12个教学部门，开办三年制高职专科专业37个、中美合作办学专业2个、五年制中高职贯通专业6个、职业本科试点专业4个。现有教职员工近1000人，其中国家级教学团队3个，国务院特殊津贴专家、全国技术能手等国家级专家人才20余人。近五年，学生获世界技能竞赛、全国职业技能大赛等国家级以上奖励100余项，毕业生去向落实率保持在96%以上，连续多年获评四川省普通高等院校毕业生就业工作先进单位。

Founded in 1952, the college has gone through the development stages of Chengdu Traffic School of Sichuan Province, Chengdu Highway Engineering School of the Ministry of Communications, etc., and was upgraded to a higher vocational and technical college in 2001. Currently, it has 12 teaching departments, offering 37 three-year higher vocational college majors, 2 Sino-US cooperative education majors, 6 five-year secondary and higher vocational integrated majors, and 4 vocational undergraduate pilot majors. There are nearly 1,000 faculty members, including 3 national teaching teams, and more than 20 national-level experts such as experts enjoying special government allowances from the State Council and national technical experts. In the past five years, students have won more than 100 national-level awards in the World Skills Competition, National Vocational Skills Competition, etc. The employment rate of graduates has remained above 96%, and it has been rated as an advanced unit for graduate employment work in ordinary colleges and universities in Sichuan Province for many consecutive years.
