汕头职业技术学院坐落于美丽的海滨城市汕头市。汕头是全国著名侨乡、国家经济特区、广东省域副中心城市，地处韩江、榕江、练江出海口，素有“华南要冲、岭东门户”之称。学院是2002年3月经广东省人民政府批准，由原汕头教育学院等多所院校合并组建的公办全日制普通高等职业院校，是省域高水平高职院校建设计划培育单位和省级高水平专业群建设单位。

Shantou Polytechnic is located in the beautiful coastal city of Shantou, a renowned hometown of overseas Chinese, a national economic special zone, and a sub-central city in Guangdong Province. Situated at the estuaries of the Han, Rong, and Lian rivers, Shantou is known as the "Gateway of Eastern Guangdong" and the "Strategic Hub of Southern China". Approved by the People's Government of Guangdong Province in March 2002, the college was formed by merging several institutions including the former Shantou Institute of Education. It is a public full-time higher vocational college, a cultivation unit of the Provincial High-level Vocational College Construction Plan, and a provincial high-level professional group construction unit.

学院现有院本部、金园、新津和东墩四个校区，总占地面积566亩，设有7个二级学院47个专业，全日制在校生1.45万人。师资队伍中高级职称教师占比22%，双师型教师占比46.6%，建有国家级培训基地、省级二类品牌专业及课程思政示范项目，与英国桑德兰大学开展中外联合培养项目，近三年毕业生就业率稳定在95%以上。

The college has four campuses: the main campus, Jinyuan Campus, Xinjin Campus, and Dongdun Campus, covering a total area of 566 mu (approximately 377,333 square meters). It houses 7 secondary colleges offering 47 majors, with a full-time student population of 14,500. The faculty includes 22% senior title holders and 46.6% "dual-qualification" teachers (with both academic and industry expertise). The college boasts national-level training bases, provincial second-class brand majors, and curriculum ideological and political demonstration projects. It has launched a Sino-foreign joint education program with the University of Sunderland (UK), and the employment rate of graduates has remained above 95% for the past three years.
