汕尾职业技术学院座落在风光旖旎的粤东滨海城市——广东省汕尾市城区，是一所由汕尾市人民政府创办，广东省人民政府批准，国家教育部备案的专科层次公办普通高等院校。学院遵循“以人为本、服务社会、内涵发展、彰显特色”的办学理念，以促进学生健康成长为宗旨，关注学生全面和谐发展；树立人才培养质量是学院生存与发展生命线的观念，坚持内涵发展，注重抓好教学质量，严抓考风考纪，促进良好教风、学风建设和校风的形成；推行双证书制度，积极组织开展职业资格考核认定，毕业生职业技能和就业竞争力不断增强。

Shanwei Polytechnic is located in the beautiful coastal city of Shanwei, Guangdong Province. It is a public higher vocational college at the junior college level founded by the Shanwei Municipal People's Government, approved by the Guangdong Provincial People's Government, and registered with the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China. The college follows the educational philosophy of "people-oriented, serving the society, connotative development, and highlighting characteristics", aiming to promote the healthy growth of students and focusing on their all-round and harmonious development. It establishes the concept that the quality of talent training is the lifeline of the college's survival and development, adheres to connotative development, pays attention to teaching quality, strictly enforces examination discipline, and promotes the formation of a good teaching style, study style, and school spirit. It implements a double certificate system, actively organizes vocational qualification assessments, and the professional skills and employment competitiveness of graduates are continuously enhanced.

学院现有两个校区，校园占地面积19.4万平方米（市政府已划拨预留发展用地28.7万平方米），建筑面积10.06万平方米，现有教学仪器设备总值2891万元；图书馆藏书45.5万册（其中纸质图书34万册，电子图书17万册），中外文报刊850种；建成科教网10兆出口、公共网2.1G出口的校园宽带网，信息点遍布校园各个角落，为实现教学、科研、对外交流和办公的现代化信息化创造了良好条件。目前学院在岗教职工有414人，其中专任教师277人。专任教师中有副高以上专业技术职务的66人，占专任教师总数的23.8%；专任教师中具有研究生学历的98人，占专任教师的35.4%，其中博士2名，教师队伍职称、学历结构日益合理，整体素质不断增强。

The college currently has two campuses, covering an area of 194,000 square meters (with 287,000 square meters of reserved development land allocated by the municipal government), with a building area of 100,600 square meters. The total value of teaching instruments and equipment is 28.91 million yuan; the library has a collection of 455,000 books (including 340,000 paper books and 170,000 e-books), and 850 kinds of Chinese and foreign newspapers and periodicals. A campus broadband network with a 10-megabit出口 of the science and education network and a 2.1G出口 of the public network has been built, with information points covering every corner of the campus, creating good conditions for the modernization and informatization of teaching, scientific research, foreign exchanges, and office work. At present, there are 414 on-the-job faculty members, including 277 full-time teachers. Among the full-time teachers, 66 have senior professional and technical titles or above, accounting for 23.8% of the total full-time teachers; 98 full-time teachers have postgraduate degrees, accounting for 35.4% of the full-time teachers, including 2 doctors. The professional title and educational background structure of the teaching team are increasingly reasonable, and the overall quality is continuously enhanced.

学院设有海洋工程系、机电工程系、信息工程系、经济管理系、艺术与设计系、外语外贸系、人文社科系、思想政治理论课教学部、公共课教学部等七系二部，相应开设29个专业，全日制在校生6940人。还与华南师范大学开放学院相沟通办学，学有余力的学生可以攻读相近的本科专业，修完本科课程的学生可以获得省自考委及华南师范大学颁发的本科毕业证书，符合学士学位申请条件的，可以申请华南师范大学学士学位。

The college has seven departments and two teaching sections, including the Department of Marine Engineering, Department of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, Department of Information Engineering, Department of Economic Management, Department of Art and Design, Department of Foreign Languages and Trade, Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, Teaching Department of Ideological and Political Theory, and Teaching Department of Public Courses, offering 29 corresponding majors with 6,940 full-time students. It also cooperates with the Open College of South China Normal University, allowing students with spare capacity to study similar undergraduate majors. Students who complete the undergraduate courses can obtain undergraduate diplomas issued by the Provincial Self-taught Examination Committee and South China Normal University, and those who meet the requirements for applying for a bachelor's degree can apply for a bachelor's degree from South China Normal University.

学院实训条件日臻完善。近年来，新建、扩建教师教学技能实训室与专业实训室30间，多媒体教室24间，投入实训设备500多台套，建立校外实训基地55家。学生的职业技能实训水平明显提高，毕业生双证持有率达到98%以上，其中教师教育专业的毕业生基本上通过市教育局教师资格认定机构教学技能测试并获取教师资格证书。

The college's practical training conditions are increasingly improved. In recent years, 30 teacher teaching skills training rooms and professional training rooms have been newly built or expanded, 24 multimedia classrooms, more than 500 sets of training equipment have been invested, and 55 off-campus training bases have been established. The practical training level of students' professional skills has been significantly improved, and the double certificate holding rate of graduates has reached more than 98%. Among them, graduates of teacher education majors have basically passed the teaching skills test of the municipal education bureau's teacher qualification certification institution and obtained teacher qualification certificates.
