通辽职业学院成立于2004年，是经内蒙古自治区人民政府批准、通辽市人民政府主办的全日制公办综合性高等职业院校。学院由原哲盟师范学校、哲盟卫生学校、哲盟教育学院、内蒙古电大通辽分校合并组建而成，办学历史可追溯至1951年，现为自治区示范性高等职业院校、高水平高职学校建设单位。

Tongliao Vocational College, founded in 2004, is a full-time public comprehensive higher vocational college approved by the People's Government of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region and sponsored by the People's Government of Tongliao City. The college was formed by the merger of the former Zhemeng Normal School, Zhemeng Health School, Zhemeng Institute of Education, and Inner Mongolia Radio and TV University Tongliao Branch, with its educational history dating back to 1951. It is now a model higher vocational college and a high-level vocational school construction unit in the autonomous region.

学院占地800余亩，建筑面积17万平方米，设有护理系、师范教育系等11个教学单位及附属医院、附属口腔医院等教学附属单位。开设医药卫生、师范教育、机电工程等5大类32个高职专业，其中护理、药学等5个专业为自治区级品牌专业，教职工700余人，全日制在校生8000余人，毕业生去向落实率长期保持在90%以上。

The college covers an area of over 800 mu with a building area of 170,000 square meters. It has 11 teaching units including the Department of Nursing and the Department of Normal Education, as well as teaching affiliated units such as affiliated hospitals and stomatological hospitals. It offers 32 higher vocational majors in 5 categories including medicine and health, normal education, and mechanical and electrical engineering. Among them, 5 majors such as nursing and pharmacy are autonomous region-level brand majors. The college has more than 700 faculty members and over 8,000 full-time students, with the employment rate of graduates remaining above 90% for a long time.

学院秉承“立足通辽，以人为本，崇尚品位，办出特色”的办学理念，先后荣获全国教育系统先进集体、全国模范职工之家、自治区文明校园等荣誉称号，构建了学历教育与职业培训并重的多层次育人体系，为区域经济社会发展培养了大量高素质技术技能人才。

Adhering to the school-running philosophy of "Based in Tongliao, people-oriented, advocating quality, and developing characteristics", the college has successively won honors such as the National Advanced Collective in Education System, National Model Workers' Home, and Autonomous Region Civilized Campus. It has built a multi-level education system that emphasizes both academic education and vocational training, cultivating a large number of high-quality technical and skilled talents for regional economic and social development.
