The University of Notre Dame Australia (UNDA), established in December 1989, is Australia's first Catholic university and one of the country's only three private universities. As a sister institution to the University of Notre Dame in the United States, it combines the traditional educational philosophy of European and North American Catholic universities with the innovative models of modern Australian higher education, dedicated to providing high-quality personalized education to students.

The university has three campuses located in Fremantle (main campus), Broome (Western Australia), and Sydney (New South Wales). The Fremantle main campus is situated in a port city 20 kilometers from Perth, the capital of Western Australia; the Broome campus is located in the scenic Kimberley region in the northwest; and the Sydney campus is in the heart of Australia's capital, offering students diverse learning and living environments.

UNDA comprises nine faculties covering arts and sciences, business, law, education, health sciences, medicine, nursing, philosophy, and theology, offering programs at undergraduate, master's, and doctoral levels. Its strengths lie in medicine, law, nursing, education, and health sciences, with the health and education disciplines enjoying high repute and many students receiving Australian government scholarship support.
