武汉船舶职业技术学院溯源于1950年成立的中南兵工学校,是一所中央与地方共建、湖北省人民政府主办的全日制普通高等职业院校。学校以“立足船舶、服务军工、面向社会”为办学定位,在船舶与海洋工程、智能制造、信息技术等领域形成鲜明特色,是全国首批“国家示范性高等职业院校”“中国特色高水平高职学校和专业建设计划”建设单位。
Wuhan Institute of Shipbuilding Technology traces its roots to the Central South Ordnance School founded in 1950. It is a full-time public higher vocational college co-sponsored by the central and local governments and administered by the Hubei Provincial People's Government. With the orientation of "rooted in shipbuilding, serving military industry, and facing society", the university has formed distinctive strengths in ship and ocean engineering, intelligent manufacturing, and information technology. It is among the first batch of "National Model Higher Vocational Colleges" and a construction unit of the "China特色高水平高职学校和专业建设计划" (Double High-Level Plan).
