西安航空职业技术学院是国家示范性高职院校、国家优质高等职业院校、全国56所中国特色高水平高职学校立项建设单位之一，是教育部批准的具有高等学历教育招生资格的全日制公办普通高等职业院校，直属陕西省教育厅，面向全国招生。学校位于中国著名航空城——西安市阎良区，处于国家级航空产业基地。建校66年来，学校秉承“尚德躬行、笃学擅用”的优良传统，发扬“艰苦创业，团结奉献，育才树人，航空报国，追求卓越”的西航精神，为国家航空事业培养了大批高素质劳动者和技术技能人才，形成了“明德敬业、严谨求是”的校风。

Xi'an Aeronautical Polytechnic Institute is one of the national model higher vocational colleges, national high-quality higher vocational colleges, and one of the 56 Chinese characteristic high-level vocational school project construction units in China. It is a full-time public ordinary higher vocational college approved by the Ministry of Education with the qualification for enrolling students in higher education. It is directly under the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Education and enrolls students nationwide. The school is located in Yanliang District, Xi'an, a famous aviation city in China, and is in the national aviation industry base. Over the past 66 years since its establishment, the school has adhered to the fine tradition of "Virtue and Practice, Learning and Application", carried forward the Xihang spirit of "Hard work, Unity and Dedication, Educating People, Serving the Country through Aviation, and Pursuing Excellence", and has cultivated a large number of high-quality workers and technical skilled talents for the national aviation industry, forming a school spirit of "Integrity, Dedication, Rigor and Truth-seeking".

学校前身是1958年成立的第三机械工业部阎良第一航空工业工人技术学校，2001年由空军移交陕西省管理，升格大专并更名为西安航空职业技术学院。学校现有南、北、东3个校区，占地面积1000多亩，在校生近15000人，设有9个二级学院及6个教学单位，开设通用航空、航空维修、制造等门类齐全、航空特色鲜明的高职类专业48个。拥有教学实验实训室210个，实验实训设备总值约2.3亿元，并有波音737-300、歼7等20架飞机及航空科技馆等教学资源。学校先后荣获“全国职业教育先进单位”“国家示范性高等职业院校”等多项荣誉称号，是陕西唯一一所空军、陆军定向培养军士院校。

The predecessor of the school was the No.1 Aviation Industry Worker Technical School of Yanliang, Third Machinery Industry Department, established in 1958. In 2001, it was transferred from the Air Force to Shaanxi Province for management, upgraded to a junior college and renamed Xi'an Aeronautical Polytechnic Institute. The school currently has 3 campuses (South, North and East), covering an area of more than 1,000 mu, with nearly 15,000 students. It has 9 secondary colleges and 6 teaching units, offering 48 higher vocational majors with complete categories and distinctive aviation characteristics, such as general aviation, aviation maintenance, and manufacturing. It has 210 teaching experiment and training rooms, with a total value of about 230 million yuan for experimental and training equipment, as well as 20 aircraft including Boeing 737-300 and J-7, and aviation science and technology museum and other teaching resources. The school has won many honorary titles such as "National Advanced Unit of Vocational Education" and "National Model Higher Vocational College", and is the only college in Shaanxi Province for定向培养军士 of the Air Force and the Army.
