新疆职业大学于1962年建立，隶属于新疆维吾尔自治区人民政府，是经国家教育部审批的普通高等院校。学校下设14个学院、2个教学部，建有新疆特色餐饮产业发展研究中心等2个研究中心，1个自治区级职业技能鉴定中心，1个普通话测试工作站，1个国家双师型教师培养培训基地，拥有国家级烹饪技能大师工作室，是教育部宝玉石鉴定与加工资源库建设单位、机械行业职业能力评价新疆区考试站。

Xinjiang Vocational University was established in 1962, affiliated to the People's Government of Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, and is an ordinary institution of higher learning approved by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China. The university has 14 colleges and 2 teaching departments, built 2 research centers such as the Xinjiang Characteristic Catering Industry Development Research Center, 1 autonomous region-level vocational skill appraisal center, 1 Putonghua testing workstation, 1 national training base for double-qualified teachers, and has a national-level culinary skill master studio. It is the construction unit of the gemstone identification and processing resource database of the Ministry of Education and the examination station of the mechanical industry vocational ability evaluation in Xinjiang.

建校63年来，学校先后建设成为全国首批高职教育试点院校、首批百所现代学徒制试点单位、1+X证书制度试点院校、国家高技能人才培训基地、AHK德国双元制职业教育联盟单位、中德汽车机电职业教育项目(SGAVE)学校、自治区级示范性高职院校、自治区优质高职院校。学校完善提升工科立校、制造业当家、文旅特色专业群协同发展办学格局，设置13个高职专业大类，开设62个专业，建有国家级骨干专业6个，自治区高水平专业群4个，重点、特色专业14个，打造先进制造、新能源新材料、现代商贸物流、水利、电力、文旅、一老一小等产业集群优势专业，是全区唯一覆盖吃住行游购娱文旅六要素的全产业链人才培养高等院校。

Over the 63 years since its establishment, the university has successively become one of the first batch of higher vocational education pilot institutions in China, the first batch of 100 modern apprenticeship pilot units, the 1+X certificate system pilot institution, the national high-skilled talent training base, the AHK German dual-system vocational education alliance unit, the Sino-German Automobile Electromechanical Vocational Education Project (SGAVE) school, the autonomous region-level demonstration higher vocational college, and the autonomous region high-quality higher vocational college. The university has improved and upgraded the school-running pattern of establishing the university with engineering, manufacturing as the mainstay, and coordinated development of cultural and tourism characteristic professional groups. It has set up 13 higher vocational professional categories, offered 62 majors, built 6 national-level key majors, 4 autonomous region-level high-level professional groups, and 14 key and characteristic majors. It has created advantageous majors in industrial clusters such as advanced manufacturing, new energy and new materials, modern commerce and logistics, water conservancy, electric power, cultural tourism, and elderly and child care. It is the only higher education institution in the region that covers the six elements of food, accommodation, transportation, travel, shopping and entertainment in cultural tourism for the whole industry chain talent training.
