岳阳职业技术学院是岳阳市人民政府主办、湖南省教育厅进行业务管理的一所综合性高等职业院校，2003年4月由原岳阳卫校、岳阳农校、岳阳机电学校和岳阳职工高专四校合并升格组建而成。学校占地面积1312.48亩，建筑面积45.19万平方米，建有校本部、平江、云溪三个校区，教学科研仪器设备总值1.58亿元，馆藏纸质与电子图书157.2万册。

Yueyang Vocational and Technical College is a comprehensive higher vocational college sponsored by the Yueyang Municipal People's Government and administered by the Hunan Provincial Department of Education. It was established in April 2003 through the merger and upgrading of the former Yueyang Health School, Yueyang Agricultural School, Yueyang Mechanical and Electrical School, and Yueyang Staff College. The school covers an area of 1312.48 mu with a building area of 451,900 square meters, including three campuses: the main campus, Pingjiang, and Yunxi. The total value of teaching and research instruments and equipment is 158 million yuan, and the collection of paper and electronic books is 1.572 million volumes.

学校下设7个二级学院和2个公共教学部，现有高职专业36个，全日制在校生13589人，专任教师793人。以健康+为核心构建六大特色专业群，拥有国家双高计划高水平专业群1个、国家级骨干专业4个、湖南省一流特色专业群3个，是国家双高计划建设单位、国家优质专科高等职业院校，毕业生年终就业率连续8年保持95%以上。

The college has 7 secondary colleges and 2 public teaching departments, offering 36 higher vocational programs with 13,589 full-time students and 793 full-time teachers. It has built six characteristic professional groups centered on "health+", including 1 national high-level professional group under the Double-High Plan, 4 national backbone majors, and 3 first-class characteristic professional groups in Hunan Province. As a national Double-High Plan construction unit and a national high-quality vocational college, its graduates' annual employment rate has remained above 95% for 8 consecutive years.
