阿坝师范学院创办于1978年，其前身可追溯至1938年的茂县简易乡村师范学校，学校所在地阿坝藏族羌族自治州是红军长征精神的重要发源地。2008年“5·12”汶川特大地震后，学校经历异地复课，2011年迁至汶川县水磨镇，2015年升格为本科院校，2023年通过教育部本科教学工作合格评估。学校校园占地1024亩，建筑面积约22.6万平方米，纸质藏书95.86万册，教学科研设备总值8000多万元。

Aba Teachers University was founded in 1978, with its predecessor tracing back to Maoxian Simple Rural Normal School established in 1938. The school is located in the Aba Tibetan and Qiang Autonomous Prefecture, an important birthplace of the Red Army's Long March spirit. After the "5·12" Wenchuan earthquake in 2008, the university resumed classes in different locations, moved to Shuimo Town, Wenchuan County in 2011, was upgraded to an undergraduate college in 2015, and passed the undergraduate teaching qualification assessment of the Ministry of Education in 2023. The campus covers an area of 1024 mu, with a building area of about 226,000 square meters, 958,600 paper books, and the total value of teaching and research equipment exceeding 80 million yuan.

学校以师范教育为特色，涵盖文学、理学、工学、管理学等8大学科门类，开设40个本科专业，现有全日制本科生6867人，专职教师405人，其中高级职称教师158人。学校先后荣获“全国抗震救灾英雄集体”“四川省民族团结先进集体”等称号，是四川省园林式校园，毗邻都江堰、青城山等世界文化遗产，区位优势显著。

With normal education as its characteristic, the university covers 8 disciplines including literature, science, engineering, and management, offering 40 undergraduate majors. It currently has 6,867 full-time undergraduates and 405 full-time teachers, including 158 with senior professional titles. The university has successively won titles such as "National Heroic Collective in Earthquake Relief" and "Advanced Collective for National Unity in Sichuan Province". It is a garden-style campus in Sichuan Province, adjacent to world cultural heritage sites like Dujiangyan and Qingcheng Mountain, with remarkable geographical advantages.
