安徽工程大学是一所以工为主的省属多科性高等院校和安徽省重点建设院校，是国家中西部高校基础能力建设工程（二期）项目建设高校，坐落在国家级开放城市芜湖。学校办学始于1935年安徽私立内思高级工校，历经芜湖电机制造学校（隶属于原国家第一机械工业部）、芜湖机械学校、安徽机电学院、安徽工程科技学院等办学阶段，2010年更名为安徽工程大学。

Anhui Polytechnic University is a provincial multidisciplinary higher education institution focusing on engineering and a key construction university in Anhui Province. It is a project university of the National Midwestern Higher Education Institutions Basic Capacity Building Project (Phase II) and is located in Wuhu, a national open city. The university was founded in 1935 as Anhui Private Neisi Advanced Technical School, and has gone through stages such as Wuhu Electrical Machinery Manufacturing School (affiliated to the former First Ministry of Machinery Industry), Wuhu Machinery School, Anhui Institute of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, and Anhui University of Engineering Science and Technology. It was renamed Anhui Polytechnic University in 2010.

学校占地面积2213亩，校舍建筑总面积50余万平方米，教学科研仪器设备总值3.14亿元。现有全日制在校本科生22000余人，教职工近1300人，其中专任教师1000余人。学校聘请一批包括中科院院士、工程院院士在内的国内外知名学者担任兼职教授，引进高层次人才担任学科领军人才，50余人被选拔为安徽省教学名师、安徽省学术和技术带头人、拔尖人才、高校中青年学科带头人等，逐步建成了一支教学经验丰富、学术水平较高、科研能力较强的教学科研队伍。

The university covers an area of 2213 mu, with a total building area of over 500,000 square meters and teaching and research equipment worth 314 million yuan. There are more than 22,000 full-time undergraduates and nearly 1,300 faculty members, including over 1,000 full-time teachers. The university has invited a number of well-known domestic and foreign scholars, including academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Engineering, to serve as part-time professors, and introduced high-level talents to serve as discipline leaders. More than 50 people have been selected as Anhui Provincial Teaching Masters, Anhui Provincial Academic and Technical Leaders, Top Talents, and Young and Middle-aged Discipline Leaders in Colleges and Universities, gradually building a teaching and research team with rich teaching experience, high academic level and strong scientific research ability.
