北华大学是吉林省省属规模最大的重点综合性大学，是吉林省人民政府与国家林业和草原局共建高校，坐落在风景迷人的雾凇之都、中国魅力城市——吉林省吉林市，享有“北国之花、大学之华”的美誉。学校于1999年9月经国家教育部批准，由原吉林师范学院、吉林医学院、吉林林学院、吉林电气化高等专科学校合并组建而成。原四校前身分别为创办于1906年的吉林初级师范学堂、创办于1928年的吉林私立助产学校、创办于1952年的吉林省林业学校和创办于1920年的吉林省立职业学校，是吉林省现代教育的发祥地。

Beihua University is the largest key comprehensive university under the provincial administration in Jilin Province. It is a joint university co-founded by the People's Government of Jilin Province and the National Forestry and Grassland Administration. Located in Jilin City, Jilin Province, a charming city known as the "City of Rime", it enjoys the reputation of "the Flower of Northern China, the Glory of Universities". Approved by the Ministry of Education in September 1999, the university was formed by the merger of the former Jilin Normal College, Jilin Medical College, Jilin Forestry College, and Jilin Electrification College. The predecessors of the four schools were Jilin Primary Normal School founded in 1906, Jilin Private Midwifery School founded in 1928, Jilin Forestry School founded in 1952, and Jilin Provincial Vocational School founded in 1920, which are the birthplaces of modern education in Jilin Province.

学校现有各类全日制在校生30168人，其中硕士研究生3045人、本科生25036人、专科生1898人、来华留学生189人。学校是全国文明单位、全国大学生文化素质教育基地、国家语委语言文字应用培训基地。学校坚守百年办学传承，始终根植吉林大地，致力服务振兴发展，为国家和地方累计培养了近30万各类高素质人才。

The university currently has 30,168 full-time students of various types, including 3,045 master's students, 25,036 undergraduates, 1,898 junior college students, and 189 international students. It is a National Civilized Unit, a National Base for Cultural Quality Education of College Students, and a Training Base for Language Application of the National Language Commission. Adhering to a century-old educational heritage, the university has always been rooted in Jilin and dedicated to serving regional revitalization and development, having cultivated nearly 300,000 high-quality talents of various types for the country and the local region.

学校现有东、南、北三个校区和一所附属医院，占地面积268.4万平方米（含教学实验基地），建筑面积55.95万平方米。教学科研仪器设备总值6.78亿元，馆藏图书411.8万册。设有26个学院，1个工程训练中心。现有教职工2183人，其中高级职称1037人、博士生导师18人、硕士生导师524人。共享两院院士4名，拥有美国国际木材科学院院士1人，国家“万人计划”百千万工程领军人才、享受国务院特殊津贴等国家级人才50人次，长白山学者、享受省政府津贴等省级各类人才百余人次。

The university has three campuses (East, South, and North) and one affiliated hospital, covering an area of 2.684 million square meters (including teaching and experimental bases) with a building area of 559,500 square meters. The total value of teaching and research instruments and equipment is 678 million yuan, and the library has a collection of 4.118 million books. It has 26 colleges and 1 engineering training center. There are 2,183 faculty members, including 1,037 with senior professional titles, 18 doctoral supervisors, and 524 master supervisors. It shares 4 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and Chinese Academy of Engineering, has 1 academician of the International Academy of Wood Science (USA), 50 national-level talents such as leading talents of the National "Ten-Thousand Talents Plan" and recipients of special government allowances from the State Council, and more than 100 provincial-level talents such as Changbai Mountain Scholars and recipients of provincial government allowances.

学校现有本科专业83个，一级学科硕士学位授权点18个，硕士专业学位类别23个，涵盖11个学科门类。拥有国家林业和草原局重点学科1个，吉林省特色高水平学科11个；拥有国家级一流专业建设点11个，国家级特色专业6个，省级一流专业建设点13个、省级特色高水平专业11个。形成了“一主多样性、创新实践型”人才培养特色，开展了卓有成效的大学生创新创业实践育人活动，涌现出中国国际大学生创新大赛总决赛金奖、中国虚拟现实大赛全国总决赛一等奖、全国研究生学科教学技能大赛一等奖等代表性育人成果，先后获国家教学成果二等奖等国家及省级奖励60项。

The university currently offers 83 undergraduate programs, 18 first-level discipline master's degree authorization points, and 23 master's professional degree categories, covering 11 disciplines. It has 1 key discipline of the National Forestry and Grassland Administration, 11 characteristic high-level disciplines of Jilin Province; 11 national first-class professional construction sites, 6 national characteristic specialties, 13 provincial first-class professional construction sites, and 11 provincial characteristic high-level specialties. It has formed the talent training characteristics of "one main diversity, innovative and practical", and carried out effective college students' innovation and entrepreneurship practice education activities. Representative educational achievements have emerged, such as the gold medal in the finals of the China International College Student Innovation Competition, the first prize in the national finals of the China Virtual Reality Competition, and the first prize in the National Postgraduate Subject Teaching Skills Competition. It has successively won 60 national and provincial awards such as the second prize of National Teaching Achievements.

北华大学龙舟队享誉国内外，在国际、国内重大龙舟赛事中先后获得金牌101枚。学校是全国首批卓越医生和卓越农林人才培养计划项目改革试点高校、国家大学生创新创业训练计划项目学校、全国高校毕业生就业典型经验高校和全国高校实践育人创新创业基地。

The Beihua University Dragon Boat Team is renowned at home and abroad, having won 101 gold medals in major international and domestic dragon boat events. The university is one of the first batch of pilot universities for the reform of the Excellent Doctor and Excellent Agricultural and Forestry Talents Training Program, a school for the National College Students' Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Program, a model university for the employment of college graduates nationwide, and a national university practice education innovation and entrepreneurship base.
