北京工业大学创建于1960年，是一所以工为主，工、理、经、管、文、法、艺、教相结合的多科性市属重点大学，是国家“双一流”建设高校、国家“211工程”建设高校。学校位于北京市朝阳区，占地面积96.0151万平方米，建筑面积108.8421万平方米。

Founded in 1960, Beijing University of Technology (BJUT) is a key municipal university with a multidisciplinary focus, predominantly in engineering, and integrated with science, economics, management, humanities, law, arts, and education. It is a "Double First-Class" construction university and a "211 Project" university in China. The university is located in Chaoyang District, Beijing, covering an area of 960,151 square meters with a building area of 1,088,421 square meters.

学校现有一级学科博士学位授权点22个，一级学科硕士学位授权点34个，专业学位类别18个。拥有国家重点学科3个，北京市重点学科21个，北京市高精尖学科9个。在第四轮学科评估中，土木工程学科获评A，环境科学与工程、材料科学与工程、计算机科学与技术、软件工程、机械工程等学科获评B+。

BJUT currently has 22 first-level disciplines authorized for doctoral degrees, 34 first-level disciplines authorized for master's degrees, and 18 professional degree categories. It boasts 3 national key disciplines, 21 Beijing key disciplines, and 9 Beijing high-precision disciplines. In the fourth round of学科评估, the discipline of Civil Engineering was rated A, while Environmental Science and Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Computer Science and Technology, Software Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and other disciplines were rated B+.
