北京工业职业技术学院是北京市人民政府举办、教育部备案、北京市教育委员会主管的公办全日制普通高等职业院校，全国首批独立设置高职院校、国家示范性高职院校、国家“双高计划”建设单位。学校前身为创建于1956年隶属于煤炭工业部的北京煤炭工业学校，1994年开始举办高等职业教育，1999年正式改制为职业技术学院。

Beijing Polytechnic is a public full-time higher vocational college sponsored by the People's Government of Beijing, registered with the Ministry of Education, and administered by the Beijing Municipal Education Commission. It is one of the first batch of independently established higher vocational colleges in China, a national model higher vocational college, and a construction unit of the national "Double High-Level Plan". The school originated from Beijing Coal Industry School, which was founded in 1956 and affiliated to the Ministry of Coal Industry. It began to offer higher vocational education in 1994 and was officially restructured into a vocational and technical college in 1999.

学校地处北京市石景山区，占地360亩，毗邻中关村科技园区，现设有9个教学院部和国际教育学院，有5个专业群，覆盖8个专业大类、27个专业，形成了面向城市建设、运行、管理、服务领域，独具特色的以工科专业为主，工、管、文、法等不同门类协调发展的专业体系。学校先后入选百所国家级示范高职院校、全国高职校长联席会主席团单位，荣获全国高校就业工作50强、全国教学管理50强等称号。

Located in Shijingshan District, Beijing, the school covers an area of 360 mu and is adjacent to the Zhongguancun Science and Technology Park. It currently has 9 teaching colleges and an International Education College, with 5 professional groups covering 8 major categories and 27 majors. It has formed a unique professional system focusing on engineering, with coordinated development of engineering, management, liberal arts, law and other disciplines, oriented towards urban construction, operation, management and service fields. The school has been selected into the list of 100 national model higher vocational colleges and the presidium unit of the National Joint Conference of Presidents of Higher Vocational Colleges, and has won titles such as Top 50 in National College Employment Work and Top 50 in National Teaching Management.
