北京印刷学院是由北京市人民政府举办，北京市教育委员会主管的全日制普通高等学校，是国家绿色印刷包装产业协同创新基地、国家出版印刷高级人才培养基地、北京市文化创意产业人才培养基地。学校以“传承弘扬印刷文明，创新发展出版文化”为办学使命，形成了以印刷包装为特色，工、文、艺、管协调发展的学科专业体系。

Beijing Institute of Graphic Communication (BIGC) is a full-time ordinary institution of higher education sponsored by the People's Government of Beijing Municipality and administered by the Beijing Municipal Commission of Education. It is a national collaborative innovation base for green printing and packaging industry, a national training base for senior talents in publishing and printing, and a talent training base for cultural and creative industries in Beijing. With the mission of "inheriting and promoting printing civilization, innovating and developing publishing culture", the university has formed a discipline and professional system featuring printing and packaging, with coordinated development of engineering, literature, art and management.

学校前身是1958年创建的文化学院印刷工艺系。历经多次调整与发展，1983年经教育部批准正式成立北京印刷学院。学校现有西校区、北校区和康庄校区三个校区，总占地面积近300亩，校舍建筑面积约24万平方米。设有13个二级学院（部），开设30余个本科专业，拥有12个一级学科硕士学位授权点，10个专业硕士学位授权点。

The predecessor of the university was the Printing Technology Department of the Cultural College founded in 1958. After several adjustments and developments, it was officially established as Beijing Institute of Graphic Communication with the approval of the Ministry of Education in 1983. The university currently has three campuses: West Campus, North Campus and Kangzhuang Campus, covering a total area of nearly 300 mu and a building area of about 240,000 square meters. It has 13 secondary colleges (departments), offering more than 30 undergraduate majors, 12 first-level discipline master's degree authorization points and 10 professional master's degree authorization points.

学校师资力量雄厚，现有教职工800余人，其中专任教师500余人，具有高级职称的教师占比超过40%。近年来，学校承担了国家科技支撑计划、国家自然科学基金、国家社会科学基金等国家级、省部级科研项目数百项，在印刷包装材料、数字媒体技术、出版产业管理等领域取得了一批重要科研成果。学校坚持开放办学，与国内外多所高校、科研机构和企业建立了广泛的合作关系，为学生提供了良好的实践和发展平台。

The university has a strong faculty, with more than 800 faculty members, including more than 500 full-time teachers, and more than 40% of them have senior professional titles. In recent years, the university has undertaken hundreds of national and ministerial-level scientific research projects such as the National Science and Technology Support Program, the National Natural Science Foundation, and the National Social Science Foundation, and has achieved a number of important scientific research results in the fields of printing and packaging materials, digital media technology, and publishing industry management. The university adheres to open education and has established extensive cooperative relations with many universities, scientific research institutions and enterprises at home and abroad, providing students with a good platform for practice and development.
