北京培黎职业学院是经北京市人民政府批准、国家教育部备案，在原北京培黎职业大学基础上设立的市属全日制民办普通高校，开展高等职业教育（专科）。学院前身是1983年5月创建的培黎职业大学，系我国改革开放初期最早创立的民办大学之一，其历史可追溯至抗战时期路易·艾黎创办的培黎学校。国际友人路易·艾黎担任首任名誉校长，1984年亲自将校名确定为“培黎职业大学”，寓意“为中华的黎明培养人才”，并纪念其先师约瑟夫·培黎。

Beijing Peili Vocational College is a municipal full-time private general higher education institution approved by the Beijing Municipal People's Government and registered with the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China. It was established on the basis of the former Beijing Peili Vocational University and offers higher vocational education (junior college level). The college's predecessor, Peili Vocational University, was founded in May 1983 and was one of the earliest private universities established during China's reform and opening-up era. Its history can be traced back to the Peili School founded by Rewi Alley during the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression. The international friend Rewi Alley served as the first honorary president and personally named the university "Peili Vocational University" in 1984, implying "cultivating talents for the dawn of China" and honoring his mentor Joseph Bailie.

学院以“手脑并用，创造分析”为校训，传承路易·艾黎倡导的职业教育思想，获习近平总书记回信勉励及温家宝总理题词肯定。学院立足北京、依托中关村，形成以经济管理类专业为主体，工程、文化艺术类专业协同发展的格局，构建财经商贸、双语学前教育、信息技术、艺术传媒和民生服务5个专业群。毕业生就业率连续保持在97%左右，专升本录取率超60%，居北京同类高校前列。

Adhering to the motto "Learning by Doing, Creating and Analyzing," the college inherits the vocational education philosophy advocated by Rewi Alley. It has received encouragement from President Xi Jinping in a reply letter and an inscription from Premier Wen Jiabao. Based in Beijing and relying on Zhongguancun, the college has formed a disciplinary structure centered on economic management programs, supported by engineering, culture, and art disciplines. It has established five professional clusters: Finance and Business, Bilingual Preschool Education, Information Technology, Art Media, and Public Service. The employment rate of graduates has remained around 97%, and the admission rate for junior college students to undergraduate programs exceeds 60%, ranking among the top of similar institutions in Beijing.

学院积极推进国际化办学，获批招收国际学生资质，与西班牙、英国、日本等国院校合作开展专升本、专升硕项目，每年输送学生赴海外深造或实习。校内设52个校外实训基地，与联想、工商银行等企业深度合作，践行“产教融合、工学结合”培养模式。迄今已培养数万实用型人才，获“北京市民办教育先进单位”“北京市依法治校示范校”等荣誉，连续举办六届“春蕾大专班”资助贫困女生，彰显“社会公办、平民大学”的办学初心。

The college actively promotes international education, has obtained qualification to enroll international students, and collaborates with institutions in Spain, the UK, Japan, etc., on programs for junior college students to pursue undergraduate and master's degrees, sending students abroad for further study or internships annually. It has established 52 off-campus training bases and conducts in-depth cooperation with enterprises such as Lenovo and Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, practicing the "industry-education integration, work-study combination" training model. Having cultivated tens of thousands of practical talents, the college has been honored as "Advanced Private Education Institution in Beijing" and "Model School for Law-Based Governance in Beijing." It has also organized six sessions of the "Spring Bud College Class" to资助 underprivileged female students, embodying its founding mission of being a "public welfare-oriented, people's university."
