成都航空职业技术大学创建于1965年，是原航空工业部的十所航空院校中唯一布局在西南的学校，现为四川省人民政府举办、教育厅直属的公办全日制普通高等学校。学校是全国首批高职院校（14所之一）、首批国家示范性高职院校（28所之一）、国家“双高计划”建设单位、中国人民解放军首批定向培养军士学校，2025年6月升格为全国第一所航空职业技术大学，开设材料成型及控制工程、飞行器维修工程技术等6个职业本科专业。

Chengdu Aeronautic Polytechnic University was founded in 1965. It is the only school among the ten aviation colleges originally under the Ministry of Aviation Industry that is located in Southwest China. Now it is a public full-time ordinary higher education institution sponsored by the Sichuan Provincial People's Government and directly under the Education Department. The university is one of the first batch of higher vocational colleges in China (one of 14), one of the first batch of national model higher vocational colleges (one of 28), a national "Double High Plan" construction unit, and one of the first batch of directional training sergeant schools of the Chinese People's Liberation Army. In June 2025, it was upgraded to the first aviation vocational and technical university in China, offering 6 vocational undergraduate majors such as Material Forming and Control Engineering, and Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Technology.

学校现有龙泉驿、新都两个校区，占地约1600亩，在校生9600余人，教学科研仪器设备总值2.36亿元。围绕航空制造—运营—维修全产业链打造特色专业集群，拥有波音737、翼龙无人机等实训飞机16架，建有国家级生产性实训基地3个，形成“产教军民融合、校企校地合作”的办学模式，累计为航空国防和区域经济培养高素质技术技能人才超10万人。

The university has two campuses in Longquanyi and Xindu, covering an area of about 1600 mu, with more than 9600 students and a total value of 236 million yuan in teaching and research instruments and equipment. It has built a characteristic professional cluster around the entire industrial chain of aviation manufacturing-operation-maintenance, owns 16 training aircraft including Boeing 737 and Wing Loong UAV, and has 3 national productive training bases. It has formed a school-running model of "integration of industry and education, military-civilian integration, and school-enterprise and school-local cooperation", and has cultivated more than 100,000 high-quality technical and skilled talents for aviation national defense and regional economy.
