重庆对外经贸学院始建于2001年，历经重庆师范学院海莱学院、重庆师范大学涉外商贸学院等发展阶段，2020年经教育部批准转设为独立设置的本科层次民办普通高等学校，更为现名。学校坐落于重庆，在合川区和铜梁区建有3个校区，秉承“行知思想”，弘扬“作孚精神”，奉行“培元致新”的校训，是教育部网络学习空间应用优秀学校、重庆市首批民办高校“三全育人”综合改革试点高校。

Chongqing College of International Business and Economics was founded in 2001, undergoing development stages such as Hailai College of Chongqing Normal University and Foreign Trade and Business College of Chongqing Normal University. In 2020, it was approved by the Ministry of Education to be transformed into an independent private undergraduate higher education institution and renamed to its current name. Located in Chongqing, the university has 3 campuses in Hechuan District and Tongliang District. It upholds the educational philosophy of "Xingzhi Thought", promotes the "Zuofu Spirit", and adheres to the school motto of "Peiyuan Zhixin". It is an excellent school for the application of online learning space by the Ministry of Education and one of the first private universities in Chongqing to pilot the "Three-All-Education" comprehensive reform.

学校以经济学、管理学为主体，形成多学科协调发展格局，设14个二级学院，53个本科专业，应用经济学为市级重点学科，国际经济与贸易、商务英语、旅游管理为市级一流专业。建有国家级一流本科课程1门、市级一流本科课程18门，获重庆市教学成果三等奖等多项荣誉。累计向社会输送毕业生7万多名，与华为、京东等300余家企业建立校企合作关系，着力培养高素质应用型人才。

The university takes economics and management as its main disciplines, forming a pattern of coordinated development of multiple disciplines. It has 14 secondary colleges and 53 undergraduate majors. Applied Economics is a municipal key discipline, and International Economics and Trade, Business English, and Tourism Management are municipal first-class majors. It has 1 national first-class undergraduate course and 18 municipal first-class undergraduate courses, and has won many honors such as the third prize of Chongqing Teaching Achievement Award. It has cumulatively sent more than 70,000 graduates to the society and established school-enterprise cooperation relationships with more than 300 enterprises including Huawei and JD.com, striving to cultivate high-quality applied talents.
