长春工业大学是一所以工为主，工、管、文、理、经、法、艺术等多学科相互支撑、协调发展的省属重点大学。始建于1952年，建校初期是国家为筹建中国第一汽车制造厂而创办的长春汽车工业学校，先后经历了长春工业专科学校、吉林理工学院、吉林工学院等发展阶段。2002年3月更名为长春工业大学，1992年被吉林省政府确定为首批三所省属重点高校之一，2016年入选“中西部高校基础能力建设工程”院校，2020年3月入选吉林省特色高水平应用研究型大学建设项目高校。

Changchun University of Technology is a provincial key university with engineering as its main focus, supported by coordinated development of multiple disciplines including engineering, management, liberal arts, science, economics, law, and art. Founded in 1952, initially established as Changchun Automobile Industry School to prepare for the construction of China's First Automobile Works, it has undergone development stages such as Changchun Industrial College, Jilin Institute of Technology, and Jilin Institute of Engineering. Renamed Changchun University of Technology in March 2002, it was identified as one of the first three provincial key universities by Jilin Provincial Government in 1992, selected into the "Midwest University Basic Capacity Construction Project" in 2016, and included in Jilin Provincial Characteristic High-level Applied Research University Construction Project in March 2020.

学校现有南湖、北湖两个校区，占地面积125.2万平方米，设有16个学院，56个本科专业，其中国家级一流本科专业建设点14个，省级一流本科专业建设点27个。拥有2个博士后流动站，6个一级学科博士学位授权点，20个一级学科硕士学位授权点，15个硕士专业学位类别。材料科学与工程、机械工程学科入选吉林省高校世界一流学科培育计划，化学、材料科学、工程学学科进入ESI全球排名前1%。

The university has two campuses (Nanhu and Beihu) covering an area of 1.252 million square meters, with 16 colleges and 56 undergraduate majors, including 14 national-level first-class undergraduate major construction sites and 27 provincial-level ones. It boasts 2 post-doctoral research stations, 6 first-level discipline doctoral degree authorization points, 20 first-level discipline master's degree authorization points, and 15 master's professional degree categories. Materials Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering disciplines were selected into Jilin Provincial Universities World-Class Discipline Cultivation Program, while Chemistry, Materials Science, and Engineering disciplines entered the top 1% of ESI global rankings.

学校始终坚持与国家重大需求和地方经济社会发展紧密结合，在碳纤维复合材料、微纳加工、金属材料强韧化、人工智能与大数据等领域取得重大成果。建校70多年来培养各类优秀人才21万余人，毕业生就业率始终位居吉林省高校前列，荣获“全国毕业生就业工作先进集体”“全国首批毕业生就业50所典型经验高校”等称号。

Over 70 years of establishment, it has cultivated more than 210,000 outstanding talents of various types. The employment rate of graduates has always been among the top in Jilin Province's universities, and it has been awarded titles such as "National Advanced Collective for Graduate Employment Work" and "National First Batch of 50 Model Experience Universities for Graduate Employment".
