重庆第二师范学院是一所以教育学为主、多学科协调发展、以服务0~12岁儿童成长和教师教育协同创新为鲜明特色的全日制普通本科师范院校。学校肇始于1954年成立的重庆市中学教师业余进修学校，1973年更名为重庆市教师进修学院，1984年合并组建为重庆教育学院，2012年改建为重庆第二师范学院。学校现有南山和学府大道两个校区，占地面积615.65亩，建筑面积42.22万平方米，设有12个二级学院，45个本科专业，涵盖教育学、文学、理学、工学、管理学、经济学、艺术学、医学、法学等9个学科门类，在校本科学生1.5万余人。

Chongqing University of Education is a full-time ordinary undergraduate normal university characterized by education as its main discipline, coordinated development of multiple disciplines, and distinctive features in serving the growth of children aged 0-12 and collaborative innovation in teacher education. The university originated from Chongqing Middle School Teachers' Part-time Training School founded in 1954, was renamed Chongqing Teachers' Training College in 1973, merged and established as Chongqing College of Education in 1984, and was restructured into Chongqing University of Education in 2012. The university has two campuses, Nanshan and Xuefu Avenue, covering an area of 615.65 mu with a building area of 422,200 square meters. It has 12 secondary colleges and 45 undergraduate majors, covering 9 disciplines including Education, Literature, Science, Engineering, Management, Economics, Art, Medicine, and Law, with more than 15,000 undergraduate students.

学校秉承“锲而不舍、止于至善”的校训和“负重自强、创新求真”的校风，坚持“做优做特师范教育，做大做强非师范教育”，形成了面向基础教育和重庆市现代产业的发展定位。近年来，学校获批重庆市新增硕士学位授予立项建设单位，建成国家一流本科专业建设点3个、重庆市一流本科专业建设点5个，拥有国家级一流本科课程2门、重庆市一流本科课程75门，获重庆市教学成果奖6项，2800余人次学生在全国各类重大赛事中获国家级及市级奖励。
