重庆机电职业技术大学是由教育部批准成立、重庆市教育委员会主管的全日制民办职业本科高校。其前身是1971-1979年期间，建设机床厂、长安机器制造厂等川渝八所兵工企业分别举办的职工大学；1990年整合组建成重庆兵器工业职工大学；2003年转设为重庆机电职业技术学院；2018年升格为本科层次职业学校，2019年5月更名为重庆机电职业技术大学，是全国首批、重庆市第一所职业教育本科高校；2022年成为学士学位授予权单位。学校位于重庆市璧山区，占地2800亩，秉承“德为根、人为本、和为贵、能为先”的办学理念，以服务国防、装备制造业、新型产业为重点，开设机械设计制造及自动化、人工智能工程技术等20个本科专业和6个专科专业，致力于培养高素质技术技能人才。

Chongqing Polytechnic University of Mechatronics is a full-time private vocational undergraduate college approved by the Ministry of Education and administered by the Chongqing Municipal Education Commission. Its predecessor was the staff universities established by eight ordnance enterprises in Sichuan and Chongqing, including the Construction Machine Tool Factory and Chang'an Machinery Factory, between 1971 and 1979. In 1990, these eight staff universities were integrated into Chongqing Ordnance Industry Staff University. In 2003, it was transformed into Chongqing Vocational College of Mechatronics. In 2018, it was upgraded to an undergraduate vocational school, and in May 2019, it was renamed Chongqing Polytechnic University of Mechatronics, becoming one of the first batch of vocational undergraduate colleges in China and the first in Chongqing. In 2022, it became a bachelor's degree-granting unit. Located in Bishan District, Chongqing, the university covers an area of 2800 mu and adheres to the school-running philosophy of "morality as the root, people-oriented, harmony as the most precious, and ability as the first". Focusing on serving national defense, equipment manufacturing, and new industries, it offers 20 undergraduate majors such as Mechanical Design, Manufacturing and Automation, Artificial Intelligence Engineering Technology, and 6 junior college majors, committed to cultivating high-quality technical and skilled talents.

学校传承兵工精神，弘扬军工文化，形成了鲜明的办学特色。现有在校生21529人，教职工1046人，其中博士生导师2人、硕士生导师14人、二级教授7人，享受国务院政府特殊津贴2人。馆藏纸本和电子图书合计221.3万余册，固定资产199159.75万元。先后荣获“全国职业院校就业百强”“全国校企合作先进单位”“国家级高技能人才培训基地”等称号，是重庆市首家中国人民解放军定向培养士官高校，中国军事文化研究会常务理事单位，军工安防产业联盟副理事长单位，努力建成特色鲜明、全国一流、国际有影响的高水平职业技术大学。

Inheriting the ordnance spirit and promoting military industry culture, the university has formed distinct school-running characteristics. Currently, it has 21,529 students and 1,046 faculty members, including 2 doctoral supervisors, 14 master supervisors, 7 second-level professors, and 2 recipients of special government allowances from the State Council. The university has a collection of 2.213 million paper and electronic books, with fixed assets of 1,991,597,500 yuan. It has successively won titles such as "Top 100 National Vocational Colleges for Employment", "National Advanced Unit for School-Enterprise Cooperation", and "National High-Skilled Talent Training Base". It is the first university in Chongqing to定向培养 non-commissioned officers for the Chinese People's Liberation Army, an executive director unit of the China Military Culture Research Association, and a vice-chairman unit of the Military Industry Security Industry Alliance, striving to build a high-level vocational and technical university with distinctive characteristics, first-class in China and internationally influential.
