德宏职业学院是一所植根边疆以医、工、财、旅专业教育为主的综合性高等职业院校，由德宏州人民政府主办，云南省教育厅主管，实行省州共建共管、以州管为主的管理体制。学校前身为1960年创建的德宏州卫生学校，2008年升格为德宏职业学院，2015年整合德宏州中等职业学校、德宏州技工学校资源，形成集高职、中职、技工教育于一体的办学格局。

Dehong Vocational College is a comprehensive higher vocational college rooted in the border area, focusing on professional education in medicine, engineering, finance, and tourism. Sponsored by the Dehong Prefectural People's Government and supervised by the Yunnan Provincial Department of Education, it operates under a management system of provincial-prefectural co-construction and management, with prefectural management as the mainstay. The college originated from Dehong Prefectural Health School founded in 1960, was upgraded to Dehong Vocational College in 2008, and integrated resources from Dehong Prefectural Secondary Vocational School and Dehong Prefectural Technical School in 2015, forming an educational structure integrating higher vocational, secondary vocational, and technical education.

学校规划占地面积830.6亩，现有全日制学生13500余人，教职工500余名，其中专任教师422名。开设50个三年制高职专业、20个五年制高职专业及36个中职技工专业，涵盖医药卫生、装备制造等13个专业大类，其中国控专业6个、云南省A级五星专业1个（护理），中医学专业群入选云南省双高计划。建校65年来累计培养8万余名技能人才，荣获全国民族团结进步模范集体称号，正着力建设特色鲜明的沿边高水平国门职业大学。

The college has a planned area of 830.6 mu, with over 13,500 full-time students and more than 500 faculty members, including 422 full-time teachers. It offers 50 three-year higher vocational programs, 20 five-year higher vocational programs, and 36 secondary vocational and technical programs, covering 13 professional categories such as medicine and health, equipment manufacturing. Among them, there are 6 nationally controlled programs, 1 Yunnan Provincial A-level five-star program (nursing), and the Chinese Medicine professional group has been selected into Yunnan's Double High-Level Plan. Over the 65 years since its establishment, it has trained more than 80,000 skilled talents, won the title of National Model Collective for Ethnic Unity and Progress, and is striving to build a distinctive high-level border gateway vocational university.
