大连海洋大学是我国北方地区唯一一所以海洋和水产学科为特色，农、工、理、管、文、法、经、艺等学科协调发展的多科性高等院校。学校创建于1952年，前身为东北水产技术学校，历经东北水产学院、大连水产学院等发展阶段，2010年更名为大连海洋大学。学校坐落于美丽的海滨城市大连，拥有黄海校区、渤海校区和瓦房店校区三个校区，总占地面积172万平方米，校舍建筑面积54万平方米。

Dalian Ocean University is the only multidisciplinary higher education institution in northern China featuring marine and fisheries disciplines, with coordinated development of agriculture, engineering, science, management, literature, law, economics, art and other disciplines. Founded in 1952, the university was formerly known as Northeast Aquatic Technology School, and went through development stages such as Northeast Fisheries College and Dalian Fisheries University, before being renamed Dalian Ocean University in 2010. Located in the beautiful coastal city of Dalian, the university has three campuses: Huanghai Campus, Bohai Campus and Wafangdian Campus, covering a total area of 1.72 million square meters with a building area of 540,000 square meters.

学校始终坚持以立德树人为根本任务，以培养高素质应用型人才为目标，形成了“海纳百川、追求卓越”的校训和“勤勉、务实、进取、创新”的校风。学校现有全日制在校生17000余人，其中本科生15000余人，硕士、博士研究生2000余人。学校设有15个学院（部），开设52个本科专业，涵盖农学、工学、理学、管理学、经济学、文学、法学、艺术学等八大学科门类。拥有国家级一流本科专业建设点10个，省级一流本科专业建设点15个，国家级特色专业3个，省级特色专业7个。

The university has always adhered to the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education and the goal of cultivating high-quality applied talents, forming the school motto of "Embracing All Rivers, Striving for Excellence" and the school spirit of "Diligence, Pragmatism, Enterprise, Innovation". The university currently has over 17,000 full-time students, including more than 15,000 undergraduates and over 2,000 master's and doctoral students. It has 15 colleges (departments) offering 52 undergraduate majors, covering eight disciplines including agriculture, engineering, science, management, economics, literature, law and art. It has 10 national first-class undergraduate major construction sites, 15 provincial first-class undergraduate major construction sites, 3 national characteristic majors and 7 provincial characteristic majors.

学校高度重视学科建设和科学研究，拥有水产、海洋科学、食品科学与工程等3个一级学科博士学位授权点，11个一级学科硕士学位授权点，7个专业学位硕士授权类别。水产学科为辽宁省一流学科，在全国第四轮学科评估中获得B+等级。学校建有国家级研究平台2个，省部级重点实验室、工程技术研究中心等科研平台30余个。近五年来，学校承担国家级、省部级科研项目500余项，获省部级以上科研奖励30余项，发表高水平学术论文1000余篇，授权发明专利200余项。

The university attaches great importance to discipline construction and scientific research, with 3 first-level discipline doctoral degree authorization points in aquatic products, marine science, food science and engineering, 11 first-level discipline master's degree authorization points, and 7 professional degree master's authorization categories. The aquatic discipline is a first-class discipline in Liaoning Province and received a B+ grade in the fourth round of national discipline evaluation. The university has 2 national-level research platforms and more than 30 scientific research platforms such as provincial and ministerial key laboratories and engineering technology research centers. In the past five years, the university has undertaken more than 500 national and provincial-level scientific research projects, won more than 30 scientific research awards at or above the provincial and ministerial level, published more than 1,000 high-level academic papers, and authorized more than 200 invention patents.

学校积极开展国际交流与合作，与俄罗斯、美国、日本、韩国、澳大利亚等国家的50多所高校和科研机构建立了友好合作关系，开展了学生交流、教师互访、合作科研等多种形式的国际合作项目。学校注重实践教学，建有各类实习实训基地200余个，其中省级以上实习实训基地30余个。学校毕业生就业率连续多年保持在90%以上，毕业生以基础扎实、作风朴实、实践能力强而受到用人单位的广泛好评。
