The National Polytechnic Institute (IPN) is one of the largest public universities in Mexico, founded on January 1, 1936. Its main campus, Unidad Profesional Adolfo López Mateos (Zacatenco), is located in northern Mexico City, covering an area of approximately 530 acres (2.1 square kilometers). Comprising 98 academic units, the institute offers 293 academic programs, including 78 technical careers, 80 undergraduate programs, and 135 graduate programs. Renowned for its leadership in technology and engineering in Mexico, it ranked second in the country according to the QS World University Rankings 2018.
