福建师范大学协和学院是由福建师范大学与有关企事业单位联合申办，2003年5月经福建省人民政府批准创办，2003年12月通过教育部首批确认的独立学院。学院沿用福建师范大学前身校之一的福建协和大学的校名，继承和发扬老协和大学的优良办学传统，砥砺出“厚德励进，博学自强”的校训精神，依托福建师范大学百年学府优质教育资源，以新机制、新体制积极探索办学新模式，培养社会急需的高素质应用型创新人才。

Concord University College, Fujian Normal University, jointly founded by Fujian Normal University and relevant enterprises and institutions, was approved by the People's Government of Fujian Province in May 2003 and confirmed by the Ministry of Education in December 2003 as one of the first independent colleges. The college inherits the school name of Fujian Concord University, one of the predecessor schools of Fujian Normal University, carries forward the fine educational traditions of the old Concord University, and fosters the school spirit of "Virtue, Diligence, Erudition and Self-improvement". Relying on the high-quality educational resources of Fujian Normal University, a century-old institution, it actively explores new school-running modes with new mechanisms and systems to cultivate high-quality applied innovative talents urgently needed by society.

学院位于福州闽侯上街大学城学府南路，校区占地面积近千亩，背靠郁葱的旗山，溪源江从校区穿行而过，校园环境优雅，人文气息浓郁，具有完备的教学、实验、文化、体育和生活设施，是融现代化、网络化、人文化、生态化、园林化为一体的“山水学村”。学院设有8个教学单位，开设涵盖文、理、工、教、经、法、管、艺等学科门类35个本科专业和3个国际化本科教育实验班，现有全日制在校生近1.2万人。

The college is located on Xuefu South Road, Shangjie University Town, Minhou, Fuzhou, covering an area of nearly 1,000 mu. Backed by the lush Qishan Mountain and with Xiyuan River flowing through the campus, it boasts an elegant environment and rich cultural atmosphere, with complete teaching, experimental, cultural, sports and living facilities. It is a "landscape academic village" integrating modernization, networking, humanization, ecology and gardenization. The college has 8 teaching units, offering 35 undergraduate majors covering arts, science, engineering, education, economics, law, management, art and other disciplines, as well as 3 international undergraduate education experimental classes, with nearly 12,000 full-time students.

学院实施“人才强院”战略，构建了一支素质优良、结构合理、爱岗敬业、富有活力的师资队伍。现有700多名专任教师中，副高以上职称的人数超过30%；自有教职工中，有福建省“百千万人才工程”人选2名，福建省优秀教师2名，省级教学名师2名，省级教学团队1个。学院积极推动教学科研发展，现有国家级精品课程1门，省级精品课程10门，省级各类建设项目30余项，获得省社科优秀成果奖6项，省高等教育教学成果奖6项。

The college implements the strategy of "strengthening the college with talents" and has built a high-quality, well-structured, dedicated and dynamic teaching staff. Among more than 700 full-time teachers, over 30% have associate senior titles or above; among its own faculty and staff, there are 2 candidates for Fujian Provincial "Hundred-Thousand-Ten Thousand Talents Project", 2 Outstanding Teachers in Fujian Province, 2 Provincial Teaching Masters, and 1 Provincial Teaching Team. The college actively promotes the development of teaching and scientific research, with 1 national excellent course, 10 provincial excellent courses, more than 30 provincial construction projects, 6 provincial social science outstanding achievement awards, and 6 provincial higher education teaching achievement awards.

学院坚持“以学生为本”的教育理念，实行以弹性学制、选课制和主辅修制为核心的完全学分制，强调实践应用能力与科研能力有机结合、专业教育与通识教育结合。学生在国际、国内和省级各类赛事中获奖千余项，历届毕业生平均一次性就业率均达93%以上，在省内独立学院中名列前茅，获评“福建省大中专毕业生就业工作先进集体”称号。

Adhering to the student-oriented educational philosophy, the college implements a complete credit system centered on flexible academic system, course selection system and minor system, emphasizing the organic combination of practical application ability and scientific research ability, as well as the integration of professional education and general education. Students have won more than 1,000 awards in various international, national and provincial competitions. The average one-time employment rate of graduates of previous years has reached over 93%, ranking among the top independent colleges in the province, and has been awarded the title of "Advanced Collective for Employment Work of College Graduates in Fujian Province".
