福建体育职业技术学院于2005年经福建省人民政府批准成立，由福建省体育局主管，教学业务由福建省教育厅指导和管理，是福建省内唯一一所省属公办体育高等职业院校，承担为体育行业、健康服务业培养高素质技术技能人才的任务。学校位于福州市鼓楼区，毗邻省奥体中心，前身是成立于1957年的福建省体育工作大队。

Fujian Institute of Physical Education was approved by the People's Government of Fujian Province in 2005. It is under the management of Fujian Provincial Bureau of Sports, with its teaching business guided and administered by Fujian Provincial Department of Education. As the only provincial public higher vocational college specializing in physical education in Fujian Province, it undertakes the task of cultivating high-quality technical and skilled talents for the sports industry and health service industry. The college is located in Gulou District, Fuzhou City, adjacent to the Provincial Olympic Sports Center, and its predecessor is Fujian Provincial Sports Work Brigade founded in 1957.

学校设有运动训练、社会体育、健身指导与管理、休闲体育、体育运营与管理、高尔夫球运动与管理、体育保健与康复、康复治疗技术、体育教育、运动数据分析、体能训练和运动健康指导等12个专业，以及户外运动、游泳指导救助、海上运动、永春白鹤拳等多个专业方向。学校全面贯彻党的教育方针，落实立德树人根本任务，遵循职业教育发展规律，主动对接体育行业和健康服务业发展需求，大力开展产教融合和校企合作，积极创新体育高职人才培养模式，着力培养学生的体育职业技能和综合素质。

The college offers 12 majors including Sports Training, Social Sports, Fitness Guidance and Management, Leisure Sports, Sports Operation and Management, Golf Sports and Management, Sports Health Care and Rehabilitation, Rehabilitation Therapy Technology, Physical Education, Sports Data Analysis, Physical Fitness Training, and Sports Health Guidance, as well as multiple professional directions such as Outdoor Sports, Swimming Guidance and Rescue, Marine Sports, and Yongchun White Crane Boxing. The college fully implements the Party's educational policy, fulfills the fundamental task of fostering virtue through education, follows the law of vocational education development, actively meets the development needs of the sports industry and health service industry, vigorously carries out industry-education integration and school-enterprise cooperation, actively innovates the talent training model of sports higher vocational education, and strives to cultivate students' sports professional skills and comprehensive quality.
