广东警官学院坐落于广东省广州市，是一所公办政法类普通本科院校，其前身是创办于1949年11月的广东省公安干部学校，2004年5月经教育部批准设立为本科院校。学校主管部门为广东省公安厅，教育教学业务由广东省教育厅主管，现有嘉禾、滨江两个校区，占地面积共561亩，校舍总建筑面积23.72万平方米。

Guangdong Police College is located in Guangzhou, Guangdong Province. It is a public undergraduate college of political science and law. Its predecessor was the Guangdong Provincial Public Security Cadre School founded in November 1949. In May 2004, it was approved by the Ministry of Education to be established as an undergraduate college. The college is administered by the Guangdong Provincial Public Security Department, with its educational and teaching business under the charge of the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education. It has two campuses, Jiahe and Binjiang, covering a total area of 561 mu, with a total building area of 237,200 square meters.

学校以“忠诚勇毅、博雅致用”为校训，形成了政治建校、警务化管理、校局合作协同育人、实战化教学的鲜明办学特色。开设侦查学、治安学、刑事科学技术等多个公安特色本科专业，其中侦查学、刑事科学技术为国家级一流本科专业建设点。2021年成为硕士学位授予立项建设单位，是华南地区重要的公安政法人才培养基地，被誉为“南粤警官摇篮”。

With the school motto of "Loyalty, Courage, Erudition and Application", the college has formed distinct school-running characteristics of establishing the school through politics, police-style management, school-bureau cooperation for collaborative education, and practical teaching. It offers multiple undergraduate majors with public security characteristics such as Investigation, Public Security, and Forensic Science and Technology, among which Investigation and Forensic Science and Technology are national first-class undergraduate major construction sites. In 2021, it became a project construction unit for granting master's degrees and an important training base for public security and political legal talents in South China, known as the "Cradle of Police Officers in Southern Guangdong".
