桂林理工大学是一所具有鲜明地质、材料、环境、测绘、土木等学科优势，工、理、管、文、经、法、艺、农等多学科协调发展的自治区重点大学。学校创建于1956年，前身为桂林地质学校，历经桂林冶金地质学院、桂林工学院等发展阶段，2009年更名为桂林理工大学。学校现有桂林屏风、桂林雁山、南宁安吉、南宁空港四个校区，校园总面积3000余亩，全日制本科生、研究生、留学生等各类学生3万余人。

Guilin University of Technology is a key university in the autonomous region with distinctive disciplinary advantages in geology, materials, environment, surveying and mapping, civil engineering, etc., and coordinated development of multiple disciplines such as engineering, science, management, liberal arts, economics, law, art, and agriculture. Founded in 1956, the university was formerly known as Guilin Geological School, and has gone through development stages such as Guilin Institute of Metallurgical Geology and Guilin University of Technology. It was renamed Guilin University of Technology in 2009. The university currently has four campuses: Guilin Pingfeng, Guilin Yanshan, Nanning Anji, and Nanning Konggang, with a total campus area of over 3,000 mu. There are more than 30,000 students of various types, including full-time undergraduates, postgraduates, and international students.

学校坚持立德树人根本任务，注重培养学生的创新精神和实践能力，形成了“艰苦创业、敬业奉献、团结协作、开拓创新”的桂工精神。学校拥有国家级一流本科专业建设点26个，国家级特色专业5个，通过工程教育认证专业12个；拥有一级学科博士学位授权点5个，一级学科硕士学位授权点22个，专业硕士学位类别15个。学校在地质资源与地质工程、环境科学与工程、材料科学与工程等学科领域具有较强的科研实力，先后承担国家级科研项目500余项，获国家级、省部级科研奖励200余项。
