桂林信息科技学院创建于2001年，前身为桂林电子工业学院信息科技学院，2021年5月经教育部批准转设为独立设置的民办普通本科高校并更名。学校坐落于桂林市，以工为主，电子信息学科优势突出，涵盖工、管、文、理、经济、艺术、教育7大学科门类，下设9个二级教学单位，开设43个本科专业，全日制在校生2.2万余人。

Guilin Institute of Information Technology was founded in 2001, formerly known as the College of Information Technology of Guilin University of Electronic Technology. It was approved by the Ministry of Education to be transformed into an independent private undergraduate university in May 2021 and renamed accordingly. Located in Guilin City, the university focuses on engineering with prominent advantages in electronic information disciplines, covering 7 academic categories including engineering, management, literature, science, economics, art, and education. It has 9 secondary teaching units, offering 43 undergraduate majors with over 22,000 full-time students.

学校秉持"自强、力行、求实、创新"校训，深化产教融合，与中兴通讯等企业共建10个现代产业学院，形成人工智能与大数据、新一代信息技术等八大专业集群。现有专任教师1360余人，硕士及以上学历占比88.75%，6个专业获批自治区级一流本科专业建设点，获国家级奖项428项，自治区级奖项2010项，2025年跻身艾瑞深校友会民办大学排名全国第76位。

Adhering to the motto of "Self-improvement, Practice, Truth-seeking, Innovation", the university deepens industry-education integration and has established 10 modern industrial colleges with enterprises like ZTE, forming eight professional clusters including artificial intelligence & big data and new-generation information technology. It has over 1,360 full-time teachers, with 88.75% holding master's degrees or above. Six majors have been approved as autonomous region-level first-class undergraduate major construction sites, winning 428 national awards and 2,010 autonomous region-level awards. In 2025, it ranked 76th among private universities in the艾瑞深校友会 ranking.
