广西经贸职业技术学院办学始于1951年，2004年经广西壮族自治区人民政府批准改制为全日制普通高等职业院校，隶属自治区供销合作联社。学校现有青山、明秀、五合（在建）三个校区，全日制高职在校生16562人，设有8个二级学院，构建以商贸类专业为核心、服务农村现代流通为特色的专业格局，重点建设电子商务、智慧财金等五大专业群。

Guangxi Economic and Trade Vocational Institute traces its roots back to 1951 and was restructured into a full-time public vocational college in 2004 with the approval of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Government. Affiliated to the Regional Supply and Marketing Cooperative Union, it now has three campuses (Qingshan, Mingxiu, and the under-construction Wuhe) with 16,562 full-time vocational students. The institute comprises 8 secondary colleges, focusing on commerce-related programs with distinctive rural modern circulation services, and prioritizes five key specialty clusters including e-commerce and smart finance.

学校遵循“立德弘商、兴贸致远”校训，秉持“商学合一、德才双馨”的人才培养理念，是全国供销合作社示范性高职院校、国家现代学徒制试点单位。校园环境优美，教学设施完善，先后获国家级教学成果奖2项、自治区级奖项8项，中央财政支持专业4个，形成了扎根桂商文化、服务区域经济的办学特色。
