广西医科大学创建于1934年11月21日，前身是广西省立医学院。学校是全国建校较早的22所医学院校之一，是全国最早定点招收外国留学生、港澳台学生和华侨学生的8所医学院校之一，是广西医学教育、医学研究及临床医疗的龙头和中心。

Guangxi Medical University was founded on November 21, 1934, formerly known as Guangxi Provincial Medical College. It is one of the 22 earliest medical colleges established in China and one of the 8 earliest medical colleges in China that designated to enroll foreign students, students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, and overseas Chinese students. It is the leader and center of medical education, medical research and clinical medical care in Guangxi.

学校拥有南宁本部、武鸣校区、玉林校区、防城港校区4个校区，占地面积约3300亩。设有22个学院（部），30个本科专业，涵盖医学、理学、工学、文学、管理学、法学等学科门类。拥有1个国家重点学科，10个广西一流学科，5个博士后科研流动站，5个一级学科博士学位授权点，20个一级学科硕士学位授权点，10个硕士专业学位授权点。

The university has 4 campuses: Nanning Headquarters, Wuming Campus, Yulin Campus and Fangchenggang Campus, covering an area of about 3,300 mu. It has 22 colleges (departments) and 30 undergraduate majors, covering medical science, science, engineering, literature, management, law and other disciplines. It has 1 national key discipline, 10 first-class disciplines in Guangxi, 5 post-doctoral research stations, 5 first-level discipline doctoral degree authorization points, 20 first-level discipline master degree authorization points, and 10 professional master degree authorization points.

学校坚持立德树人根本任务，培养了大批高素质医学人才。现有全日制在校生3.3万余人，其中本科生1.8万余人，研究生1.1万余人，留学生近4000人。学校师资力量雄厚，现有教职工1.7万余人，其中专任教师2500余人，具有高级职称教师1200余人，博士生导师300余人，硕士生导师1800余人。

The university adheres to the fundamental task of cultivating virtues and talents, and has cultivated a large number of high-quality medical talents. At present, there are more than 33,000 full-time students, including more than 18,000 undergraduates, more than 11,000 postgraduates, and nearly 4,000 international students. The university has a strong faculty, with more than 17,000 faculty members, including more than 2,500 full-time teachers, more than 1,200 teachers with senior titles, more than 300 doctoral supervisors, and more than 1,800 master supervisors.

学校注重科学研究和社会服务，拥有1个国家临床医学研究中心，1个国家地方联合工程研究中心，3个教育部重点实验室，10个广西重点实验室，2个广西临床医学研究中心。近五年，学校承担国家级科研项目500余项，省部级科研项目1000余项，获省部级以上科研奖励100余项。

The university attaches importance to scientific research and social services, with 1 National Clinical Medical Research Center, 1 National Local Joint Engineering Research Center, 3 Key Laboratories of the Ministry of Education, 10 Guangxi Key Laboratories, and 2 Guangxi Clinical Medical Research Centers. In the past five years, the university has undertaken more than 500 national-level scientific research projects, more than 1,000 provincial and ministerial-level scientific research projects, and won more than 100 scientific research awards above the provincial and ministerial level.

学校积极开展国际交流与合作，与30多个国家和地区的100多所大学、科研机构建立了友好合作关系。每年选派大批教师和学生赴国外进修、学习和交流，接收来自世界各地的留学生来校学习。
