广西科技大学坐落于国家历史文化名城和西南地区工业重镇、交通枢纽、商贸物流中心——柳州市，是直属广西壮族自治区人民政府管理的普通高等学校。学校前身为1958年在南宁筹建的广西工学院，1985年迁至柳州市办学，2013年由广西工学院与柳州医学高等专科学校合并组建为广西科技大学。

Guangxi University of Science and Technology is located in Liuzhou, a national historical and cultural city, an industrial hub in Southwest China, and a transportation and logistics center. It is a public university directly under the People's Government of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. The university traces its roots to Guangxi Institute of Technology, founded in Nanning in 1958. It relocated to Liuzhou in 1985 and was renamed Guangxi University of Science and Technology in 2013 through the merger of Guangxi Institute of Technology and Liuzhou Medical College.

学校坚持“育人为本，师生为重”的办学理念，以“求真近道，明德致新”为校训，弘扬“敢为人先、百折不挠，务实创新、追求卓越”的精神，深化“校市相融、校企合作”特色。现有文昌、柳石、柳东3个校区，占地面积近2800亩，设有16个二级学院、2个直属附属医院，全日制在校学生2.4万余人，教职工近1900人。

Adhering to the educational philosophy of "Student-Centered, Faculty-Focused" and the motto "Seek Truth, Approach Dao; Cultivate Virtue, Pursue Innovation", the university promotes the spirit of "Daring to Lead, Persevering in Challenges, Being Pragmatic and Innovative, Striving for Excellence". It has developed distinctive features in "University-City Integration" and "University-Enterprise Cooperation". The university comprises three campuses (Wenchang, Liushi, and Liudong) covering nearly 2,800 mu, with 16 secondary colleges, 2 affiliated hospitals, over 24,000 full-time students, and nearly 1,900 faculty members.

学校学科门类齐全，以工为主，涵盖工、管、理、医、经、文、法、艺术、教育等九大学科门类，拥有3个博士学位授权点立项建设学科、2个广西一流学科（B类）、9个硕士学位授权一级学科，69个本科专业中，4个入选国家级一流本科专业建设点，21个入选自治区级一流本科专业建设点。

With a comprehensive range of disciplines, the university focuses on engineering while covering nine fields including engineering, management, science, medicine, economics, literature, law, arts, and education. It has 3 disciplines under preparation for doctoral degree authorization, 2 Guangxi First-Class Disciplines (Class B), and 9 first-level disciplines with master's degree authorization. Among its 69 undergraduate programs, 4 are national-level first-class undergraduate program construction sites, and 21 are autonomous region-level first-class undergraduate program construction sites.
