广西外国语学院坐落在中国—东盟博览会永久会址、北部湾经济区中心城市、广西壮族自治区首府——南宁市，前身是创办于2004年6月的广西东方外语职业学院，2011年4月升格为全日制普通本科高校，是广西首家升本的民办普通本科高校，也是广西唯一独立建制的外语类普通本科高校。2021年获批立项建设新增硕士学位授予单位。

Guangxi University of Foreign Languages is located in Nanning, the permanent site of the China-ASEAN Expo, the central city of the Beibu Gulf Economic Zone, and the capital of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Its predecessor was Guangxi Oriental Foreign Language Vocational College founded in June 2004. In April 2011, it was upgraded to a full-time ordinary undergraduate university, being the first private ordinary undergraduate university to be upgraded in Guangxi and the only independently established foreign language ordinary undergraduate university in Guangxi. In 2021, it was approved to be a new master's degree-granting unit.

学校设有16个院系，开设有60个本、专科专业（含方向），其中语言类专业13个，全日制在校生33000多人（数据截止2023年9月），是广西外语类专业在校生数最多、语种最多的高校。现有南宁市五合校区和空港校区两个校区，校园总规划占地面积2500亩。

The university has 16 departments and offers 60 undergraduate and junior college majors (including directions), among which there are 13 language majors. The number of full-time students is over 33,000 (data as of September 2023), making it the university with the largest number of students and the most languages in foreign language majors in Guangxi. Currently, it has two campuses: Wuhe Campus in Nanning and Airport Campus, with a total planned campus area of 2,500 mu.

学校坚持立德树人根本任务，全面贯彻党的教育方针，以办人民满意的大学为宗旨，坚持“为民办学、大爱无疆，以生为本、立德树人”办学理念，秉持“留住中国魂，做好国际人”校训，弘扬“敢为人先、砥砺奋进”大学精神，形成了“大爱致远”的良好校风。学校服务边疆、对接东盟，“把小做大、把外做强”办学特色初显，各项事业得到了长足发展。

The university serves the border areas and connects with ASEAN, and its school-running characteristics of "making small things big and foreign things strong" have initially emerged, and various undertakings have achieved considerable development.

学校不断推进产教融合协同育人，以现代产业发展需求为牵引，围绕培养适应行业高质量发展和创新需求的高素质应用人才为目标，持续推进与行业企业共建现代产业学院，深化跨境电商产业学院、国际酒店管理产业学院等学院建设，建立产业、学校、科研平台贯通融合机制。

The university continuously promotes the integration of industry and education for collaborative education. Driven by the needs of modern industrial development and aiming at cultivating high-quality applied talents adapting to the high-quality development and innovation needs of the industry, it continues to promote the joint construction of modern industrial colleges with industry enterprises, deepen the construction of cross-border e-commerce industry colleges, international hotel management industry colleges, etc., and establish a mechanism for the integration of industry, university and research platforms.
