Hainan College of Economics and Business was founded in 1984. It is a state-owned public college mainly focused on cultivating high-quality technical and skilled talents in economics and trade fields. It is a China Featured High-level Vocational College, a National Key Vocational College, a National High-quality Vocational College, a National Model College for Graduate Employment, one of the Top 50 National Vocational Colleges for Internship Management, one of the Top 50 National Vocational Colleges for Student Management, a Charming Campus among National Vocational Colleges, a National Demonstration College for Employment Competitiveness of Vocational Colleges, a Top 100 National Higher Vocational College for Competitiveness, an Advanced Unit for Innovation and Entrepreneurship in National Vocational Colleges, and an Advanced Collective in National Vocational Education.

学校坐落于海口市江东新区，占地面积1032亩，建筑面积36万平方米，设施齐全，环境优美，是治学求知的理想之地。设有财务管理学院、国际贸易学院、国际旅游学院等12个二级学院，开设55个专科专业（方向），4个“4+0”联合培养本科专业，5个“3+2”高职与本科分段培养专业，现有专科学生12466人，联合培养本科学生917人，国际留学生180余名。

The college is located in Jiangdong New Area, Haikou City, covering an area of 1032 mu with a building area of 360,000 square meters. It has complete facilities and a beautiful environment, making it an ideal place for academic pursuit. It has 12 secondary colleges including the School of Financial Management, the School of International Trade, and the School of International Tourism, offering 55 specialized majors (directions), 4 "4+0" joint undergraduate programs, and 5 "3+2" vocational and undergraduate segmented training programs. Currently, there are 12,466 junior college students, 917 jointly cultivated undergraduate students, and more than 180 international students.

学校坚持立德树人，秉持“办脊梁教育、育脊梁人才、建脊梁大学”的办学理念，着力培养职业精神和职业技能高度融合、全面发展的高素质技术技能人才。近五年毕业生就业率均保持在94%以上，多次被评为海南省高校毕业生就业工作优秀单位，入选全国普通高校毕业生就业创业典型案例100强。
