湖北医药学院是一所以医学为主，医、理、工、管等多学科协同发展的普通高等医学院校，坐落于湖北省十堰市，是湖北省和鄂豫渝陕毗邻地区唯一独立设置的西医类高校。学校始建于1965年，前身为武汉医学院郧阳分院，历经同济医科大学郧阳医学院、郧阳医学院等发展阶段，2010年更名为湖北医药学院。作为全国文明单位、全国文明校园，学校还是湖北省“双一流”学科建设高校、博士学位授权单位立项建设高校，其主干学科临床医学于2017年进入ESI全球排名前1%。

Hubei University of Medicine is a general higher medical institution focusing on medicine with coordinated development of multiple disciplines including medicine, science, engineering, and management. Located in Shiyan City, Hubei Province, it is the only independently established western medicine institution in Hubei Province and the adjacent areas of Hubei, Henan, Chongqing, and Shaanxi. Founded in 1965 as Yunyang Branch of Wuhan Medical College, it went through stages such as Yunyang Medical College of Tongji Medical University and Yunyang Medical College, and was renamed Hubei University of Medicine in 2010. As a National Civilized Unit and National Civilized Campus, it is also a "Double First-Class" discipline construction university in Hubei Province and a doctoral degree authorization unit under construction. Its key discipline, Clinical Medicine, entered the top 1% of ESI global rankings in 2017.

学校现有18个二级学院，开设临床医学、麻醉学、护理学等22个本科专业，拥有3个国家一流本科专业和8个省级一流本科专业。全日制在校普通本科生、研究生及留学生1.4万余人，教职工1338人，其中副高级以上职称教师599人、博士461人。学校坚持“厚德、勤学、求实、创新”的校训，依托8所附属医院和50余所临床教学医院，构建了覆盖湖北中西部地区的医学教育体系，累计为社会培养各级各类医学人才12万余人，包括中国工程院院士、英国皇家麻醉学院院士等杰出校友。

The university has 18 secondary colleges offering 22 undergraduate majors such as Clinical Medicine, Anesthesiology, and Nursing, with 3 national first-class undergraduate majors and 8 provincial first-class undergraduate majors. It has over 14,000 full-time undergraduate students, postgraduates, and international students, and 1,338 faculty members, including 599 teachers with associate senior titles or above and 461 doctors. Adhering to the motto of "Virtue, Diligence, Truth-seeking, Innovation", the university has built a medical education system covering central and western Hubei through 8 affiliated hospitals and more than 50 clinical teaching hospitals. It has cultivated over 120,000 medical talents at all levels for the society, including outstanding alumni such as academicians of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and the Royal College of Anaesthetists.
