湖北警官学院是湖北省唯一一所公安本科院校，前身为1949年建立的湖北省公安厅公安干部训练班，历经多阶段发展，2002年在全国省属公安院校中率先升格为本科院校。学院现有南、北两个校区，校园面积512亩，以公安学、公安技术为主体学科，拥有2个国家级一流本科专业建设点和4个省级一流本科专业建设点，被誉为“荆楚警察的摇篮”。

Hubei University of Police is the only public security undergraduate college in Hubei Province. Its predecessor was the Public Security Cadre Training Class of Hubei Provincial Public Security Department established in 1949. After several stages of development, it took the lead in upgrading to an undergraduate college among provincial public security colleges nationwide in 2002. The college has two campuses, covering an area of 512 mu. With public security science and public security technology as its main disciplines, it has 2 national first-class undergraduate major construction sites and 4 provincial first-class undergraduate major construction sites, known as "the cradle of Jingchu police".

学院现有在校学生5907人，教职工457人，其中高级职称教职工112人。建有2个省级科研平台和14个院级科研平台，13个本科专业中刑事科学技术、侦查学等专业特色鲜明，形成了“教学研练战”一体化的实战化人才培养模式，为政法系统输送了15万余名专门人才。

The college currently has 5,907 students and 457 faculty members, including 112 with senior professional titles. It has built 2 provincial-level scientific research platforms and 14 university-level scientific research platforms. Among the 13 undergraduate majors, criminal science and technology, investigation science and other majors have distinct characteristics. It has formed an integrated practical talent training model of "teaching, research, training and combat", and has transported more than 150,000 professionals for the political and legal system.
