湖北工程学院新技术学院是2003年3月由湖北省教育厅批准试办、2004年2月经教育部确认，由湖北工程学院举办的一所本科层次的独立学院。学校位于武汉市卫星城市、汉孝子董永故里——孝感市城区，与武汉市相距45公里，距天河机场30公里，交通十分便利。

Hubei Engineering University New Technology College is an independent college at the undergraduate level, approved for trial operation by the Hubei Provincial Department of Education in March 2003 and confirmed by the Ministry of Education in February 2004. It is sponsored by Hubei Engineering University. The college is located in the urban area of Xiaogan City, a satellite city of Wuhan and the hometown of Dong Yong, a filial son in Han Dynasty. It is 45 kilometers away from Wuhan and 30 kilometers from Tianhe Airport, enjoying very convenient transportation.

学校依托湖北工程学院优质办学资源，现设置有6个教学系和1个公共课部，开办36个本科专业和24个专科专业，以理工科为主体，多学科协调发展。近年来，学校狠抓内涵建设，学生综合素质、创新精神和实践能力显著增强，毕业生就业率保持在90%左右，普遍受到用人单位好评。
