河北外国语学院（简称河外）是经教育部批准设立的全日制普通高等本科院校，坐落在河北省省会石家庄市，是河北省唯一一所独立设置的本科外国语大学，也是河北省八所本科高校转型发展示范学校之一。学校始建于1998年，历经石家庄联合科技专修学院、石家庄外语翻译职业学院等发展阶段，2012年升格为本科院校并更现名，2015年成为学士学位授予单位，2016年被列为硕士学位授予单位立项建设规划院校。

Hebei International Studies University (HEBIU) is a full-time ordinary undergraduate institution approved by the Ministry of Education, located in Shijiazhuang, the capital of Hebei Province. It is the only independently established undergraduate foreign language university in Hebei and one of the eight demonstration universities for transformation and development in the province. Founded in 1998, the university has gone through stages of development such as Shijiazhuang United Technology College and Shijiazhuang College of Foreign Language and Translation. It was upgraded to an undergraduate institution and renamed in 2012, became a bachelor's degree-granting unit in 2015, and was listed as a planned institution for master's degree authorization in 2016.

学校总占地面积1496805.508平方米，构建了集世界多元文化交融、中外产教学研深度融合的"世界公园型大学"。现设有16个二级学院，141个本专科专业（其中本科专业61个），形成以"专业+外语、外语+专业"为特色，覆盖文学、经济学、管理学、教育学、艺术学、医学、工学、理学8大学科的应用型学科布局。开设75个语种，覆盖"一带一路"沿线65个国家及冬奥会92个国家官方语言，其中西班牙语为省级重点发展学科，14个专业入选省级一流本科专业建设点。

Covering a total area of 1,496,805.508 square meters, the university has built a "World Park-type University" integrating global cultural exchanges and in-depth integration of industry-education-research. It now has 16 secondary colleges and 141 undergraduate and specialized programs (including 61 undergraduate majors), forming an application-oriented discipline layout featuring "major + foreign language, foreign language + major" and covering 8 disciplines: literature, economics, management, education, art, medicine, engineering, and science. The university offers 75 languages, covering 65 countries along the "Belt and Road" and 92 official languages of Winter Olympic Games countries. Spanish is a provincial key development discipline, and 14 majors have been selected as provincial first-class undergraduate major construction sites.

学校拥有国际化高水平师资队伍，引进外籍院士9名、外籍专任教师56名，与82个国家的427所国际知名大学开展本硕博层次合作。建有河北省外国院士工作站、国际技术转移中心等多个科研平台，践行"办行业里的专业，学专业里的外语"办学理念，致力于培养专业知识强、职业技能精、跨文化沟通能力突出的应用型人才，毕业生就业率和用人单位满意度持续位居全省高校前列。

The university boasts an internationally high-level faculty, including 9 foreign academicians and 56 foreign full-time teachers, and has carried out undergraduate, master's and doctoral level cooperation with 427 international renowned universities in 82 countries. It has established multiple scientific research platforms such as Hebei Foreign Academician Workstation and International Technology Transfer Center.
