河北水利电力学院坐落于沧州市，是河北省教育厅直属、与沧州市人民政府共建的全日制普通本科院校，是河北省二批向应用技术类型高校转型发展试点单位。学校前身为创建于1952年的河北水利土木学校，2016年3月，经教育部批准，升格为全日制普通本科院校。

Hebei University of Water Resources and Electric Engineering is located in Cangzhou City. It is a full-time ordinary undergraduate college directly under the Hebei Provincial Department of Education and co-built with the Cangzhou Municipal People's Government. It is a pilot unit for the transformation and development of application-oriented technical colleges in the second batch of Hebei Province. The school was formerly known as Hebei Water Conservancy and Civil Engineering School founded in 1952. In March 2016, it was upgraded to a full-time ordinary undergraduate college with the approval of the Ministry of Education.

学校占地面积36.83万平方米，建筑面积25.62万平方米，教学科研仪器设备总值9570.69万元，纸质图书107.59万册，拥有电子图书14.92万册。建有河北省重点实验室1个，河北省技术创新中心2个，河北省高校应用技术研发中心1个，沧州市技术创新中心7个。校内各类实验室83个，校外实践教学基地209个。现有全日制在校生10609人，其中本科生10588人，占学生总数的99.80%。设有水利工程系、电力工程系、马克思主义学院等12个教学单位。

The school covers an area of 368,300 square meters, with a building area of 256,200 square meters. The total value of teaching and research instruments and equipment is 95.7069 million yuan, with 1.0759 million paper books and 149,200 e-books. It has 1 key laboratory of Hebei Province, 2 technology innovation centers of Hebei Province, 1 applied technology research and development center of Hebei colleges and universities, and 7 technology innovation centers of Cangzhou City. There are 83 various laboratories on campus and 209 off-campus practical teaching bases. There are 10,609 full-time students, including 10,588 undergraduates, accounting for 99.80% of the total number of students. It has 12 teaching units including the Department of Water Conservancy Engineering, the Department of Electric Power Engineering, and the School of Marxism.

学校以应用型为导向，努力提升科技研发能力和社会服务能力。2018年以来承担国家自然科学基金面上项目2项，近三年承担科研项目586项，发表论文375篇，获得授权专利114件、软件著作权36件。建校至今，为社会输送了6万余名优秀毕业生，为区域经济社会和水利电力行业发展做出了积极贡献。

Guided by application-oriented, the school strives to enhance its scientific and technological research and development capabilities and social service capabilities. Since 2018, it has undertaken 2 general projects of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, 586 scientific research projects in the past three years, published 375 papers, obtained 114 authorized patents and 36 software copyrights. Since its establishment, it has cultivated more than 60,000 outstanding graduates for the society and made positive contributions to the development of regional economy, society and the water conservancy and electric power industry.
