河北体育学院是河北省唯一一所独立建制的本科普通高等体育院校，行政主管部门为河北省体育局。学校始建于1956年，1984年在河北师范学院体育系整建制基础上筹建并招生，1985年经国家教委批准正式建院，2005年河北省体育运动学校实质性并入。

Hebei Institute of Physical Education is the only independently established undergraduate sports college in Hebei Province, under the administrative supervision of Hebei Provincial Sports Bureau. Founded in 1956, the university was prepared and began enrollment in 1984 based on the entire physical education department of Hebei Normal College. It was officially approved by the State Education Commission in 1985, and Hebei Provincial Sports School was substantially merged into it in 2005.

学校现有两个校区，学府路校区占地500余亩，位于河北省会石家庄市长安区桃园镇学府路82号；正定新区校区占地200余亩，毗邻河北省奥林匹克体育中心。校园环境优美，为学生提供了良好的学习、训练和生活条件。

The university has two campuses: Xuefu Road Campus covers an area of over 500 mu, located at No.82 Xuefu Road, Taoyuan Town, Chang'an District, Shijiazhuang (the capital of Hebei Province); Zhengding New District Campus covers more than 200 mu, adjacent to Hebei Olympic Sports Center. The beautiful campus environment provides excellent conditions for students' study, training and daily life.

作为培养高等体育专门人才的重要阵地，学校开设了运动训练、社会体育指导与管理、武术与民族传统体育、运动人体科学等多个专业，形成了涵盖本科教育、体育单招等多层次的办学体系，为国家和社会培养了大批优秀体育人才。

As an important base for cultivating advanced sports professionals, the university offers multiple majors such as Sports Training, Social Sports Guidance and Management, Wushu and Ethnic Traditional Sports, and Sports Human Science. It has formed a multi-level educational system covering undergraduate education and sports single enrollment, cultivating a large number of outstanding sports talents for the country and society.
