河北科技大学是河北省重点建设的多科性骨干大学，坐落于河北省省会石家庄市，1956年始建于北京，后迁至河北，历经多次调整与发展，形成了以工为主，工、理、文、经、管、法、医、教育、艺术等多学科协调发展的学科专业体系。学校始终坚持立德树人根本任务，以培养应用型、创新型人才为目标，在长期的办学实践中，积淀了“兴业、尽责”的校训和“艰苦奋斗、自强不息”的科大精神。

Hebei University of Science and Technology is a key multi-disciplinary backbone university in Hebei Province, located in Shijiazhuang, the capital city of Hebei Province. It was founded in Beijing in 1956 and later moved to Hebei. After many adjustments and developments, it has formed a disciplinary professional system with engineering as the main focus, and coordinated development of engineering, science, liberal arts, economics, management, law, medicine, education, art and other disciplines. The university always adheres to the fundamental task of cultivating virtue and talents, aiming at cultivating applied and innovative talents. In the long-term school-running practice, it has accumulated the school motto of "Promoting Industry and Being Responsible" and the university spirit of "Hard Work and Self-improvement".

学校现有全日制本科生、研究生、留学生等各类在校生3万余人，设有21个教学学院（部），开设80余个本科专业，拥有17个一级学科博士学位授权点，30个一级学科硕士学位授权点，16个硕士专业学位授权类别。在学科建设方面，工程学、材料科学、化学等学科进入ESI全球前1%，形成了一批具有较强竞争力的优势学科群。

The university currently has more than 30,000 full-time undergraduates, postgraduates, international students and other types of students. It has 21 teaching colleges (departments), offering more than 80 undergraduate majors, 17 first-level discipline doctoral degree authorization points, 30 first-level discipline master's degree authorization points, and 16 master's professional degree authorization categories. In terms of discipline construction, disciplines such as Engineering, Materials Science, and Chemistry have entered the top 1% of ESI globally, forming a number of advantageous discipline groups with strong competitiveness.

近年来，学校大力推进科研创新，拥有省部共建国家重点实验室、国家地方联合工程研究中心等国家级科研平台5个，省部级科研平台50余个。科研成果先后荣获国家科技进步奖、技术发明奖等多项国家级奖励，在新能源、环境工程、生物医药、先进制造等领域取得了一批具有重要影响的科研成果，为区域经济社会发展作出了积极贡献。

In recent years, the university has vigorously promoted scientific research innovation, with 5 national-level scientific research platforms such as the State Key Laboratory jointly built by the province and the ministry, and the National Local Joint Engineering Research Center, as well as more than 50 provincial and ministerial-level scientific research platforms. Scientific research achievements have won many national awards such as the National Science and Technology Progress Award and Technological Invention Award. A number of influential scientific research achievements have been made in the fields of new energy, environmental engineering, biomedicine, advanced manufacturing, etc., making positive contributions to regional economic and social development.

学校注重对外交流与合作，先后与20多个国家和地区的100多所高校建立了友好合作关系，开展了学生联合培养、教师互访、科研合作等多种形式的国际交流活动，不断提升国际化办学水平。同时，学校积极服务地方发展，深化产教融合、校企合作，与多家企业共建实习实训基地和产业学院，着力培养学生的实践能力和创新精神，毕业生就业率连续多年位居全省高校前列。
