怀化学院坐落于湖南省怀化市，是一所应用型地方本科院校，创办于1958年，始名为黔阳师范专科学校，2002年经教育部批准升格为全日制普通本科院校并更名为怀化学院。学校现有三个校区，占地面积2114.2亩，下设16个学院（部），47个本科专业面向全国27个省（市、自治区）招生，涵盖理、工、农、经、管等十大门类。

Huaihua University is located in Huaihua City, Hunan Province. It is an application-oriented local undergraduate university founded in 1958, originally named Qianyang Normal College. In 2002, it was approved by the Ministry of Education to be upgraded to a full-time ordinary undergraduate university and renamed Huaihua University. The university currently has three campuses covering an area of 2114.2 mu, with 16 colleges (departments) and 47 undergraduate majors enrolling students from 27 provinces (municipalities and autonomous regions) across the country, covering ten categories including science, engineering, agriculture, economics, and management.

学校拥有国家级特色专业1个、国家级一流本科专业建设点5个，省级一流本科专业建设点28个，8个专业通过教育部师范类专业第二级认证。现有教职工1400余人，全日制在校本科生19000余人，与19个国家和地区的42所高校开展合作交流，先后招收19个国家的留学生100多人。近五年学生获国家级学科竞赛奖项279项，其中国家级一等奖34项，获中国国际大学生创新大赛国家金奖1项。

The university has 1 national-level characteristic major, 5 national-level first-class undergraduate major construction sites, 28 provincial-level first-class undergraduate major construction sites, and 8 majors have passed the second-level certification of normal majors by the Ministry of Education. It currently has more than 1,400 faculty members and over 19,000 full-time undergraduates. It has carried out cooperation and exchanges with 42 universities in 19 countries and regions, and has enrolled more than 100 international students from 19 countries. In the past five years, students have won 279 national-level discipline competition awards, including 34 national first prizes, and 1 national gold award in the China International College Students' Innovation Competition.
