汉江师范学院是湖北省人民政府主办的全日制普通本科院校，文脉可追溯到明朝嘉靖年间的郧山书院，前身是1904年湖广总督张之洞札令改办的湖北郧阳府师范学堂，历经郧阳师范学校、华中师范学院郧阳分院、郧阳师范专科学校、郧阳师范高等专科学校等发展阶段，2016年3月经教育部批准更名为汉江师范学院。学校现有十堰、丹江口两个校区，占地总面积74.1万平方米，总建筑面积33万平方米，是湖北省园林式学校，荣获全国生态文明教育特色学校、全国语言文字规范化示范校等多项荣誉称号。

Hanjiang Normal University is a full-time public undergraduate institution sponsored by the People's Government of Hubei Province. Its academic heritage can be traced back to Yunshan Academy during the Jiajing period of the Ming Dynasty. Its predecessor was Hubei Yunyang Prefectural Normal School, which was established in 1904 under the order of Zhang Zhidong, the Governor-General of Huguang. It has gone through developmental stages such as Yunyang Normal School, Yunyang Branch of Central China Normal College, Yunyang Teachers College, and Yunyang Teachers Junior College. In March 2016, it was renamed Hanjiang Normal University with the approval of the Ministry of Education. The university has two campuses in Shiyan and Danjiangkou, covering a total area of 741,000 square meters with a total construction area of 330,000 square meters. It is a garden-style school in Hubei Province and has been awarded many honors such as a National Characteristic School for Ecological Civilization Education and a National Model School for Language Standardization.

学校设有11个二级学院，43个本科专业、16个专科专业，涵盖文、史、理、工、教、法、经、管、艺等9个学科门类，是湖北省硕士学位授予立项建设单位。现有全日制在校学生18820人，教职工984人，其中专任教师683人，硕士博士学位教师603人，高级职称教师240人。学校坚持“立德树人、启智修能、笃行”的校训，以建设教师教育特色鲜明的高水平师范院校为目标，已为社会输送10余万名各类专门人才，被誉为“鄂西北基础教育的脊梁”“党政干部的摇篮”。

The university has 11 secondary colleges, offering 43 undergraduate programs and 16 junior college programs, covering 9 disciplines including arts, history, science, engineering, education, law, economics, management, and art. It is a project-construction unit for granting master's degrees in Hubei Province. Currently, there are 18,820 full-time students and 984 faculty members, including 683 full-time teachers, 603 teachers with master's or doctoral degrees, and 240 teachers with senior professional titles. Adhering to the school motto of "Establish Virtue, Inspire Wisdom, Cultivate Ability, and Practice Earnestly", the university aims to build a high-level normal university with distinctive teacher education characteristics. It has cultivated over 100,000 professionals for society and is known as "the backbone of basic education in northwestern Hubei" and "the cradle of party and government cadres".
