河南城建学院是一所以工科为主、以城建为特色的多学科协调发展的省属普通本科高校，也是全国仅有的以“城建”命名的两所本科高校之一。学校坐落在中国优秀旅游城市、园林城市——河南省平顶山市新城区，南临白龟湖、北倚大香山，学习生活环境宜人。其前身是创建于1983年的平顶山城建环保学校和1985年的武汉城建学院河南分院，历经河南城建高等专科学校、平顶山工学院等历史时期，2008年经教育部批准更名为河南城建学院。

Henan University of Urban Construction is a provincial public undergraduate university with engineering as its main focus and urban construction as its特色, and it is also one of the only two undergraduate universities named after "urban construction" in China. The university is located in the New District of Pingdingshan City, Henan Province, a excellent tourist city and garden city in China, adjacent to Baigui Lake in the south and Dashan香山 in the north, providing a pleasant learning and living environment. Its predecessor was Pingdingshan Urban Construction and Environmental Protection School founded in 1983 and Henan Branch of Wuhan Urban Construction College founded in 1985. It went through historical periods such as Henan Urban Construction College and Pingdingshan Institute of Technology, and was renamed Henan University of Urban Construction with the approval of the Ministry of Education in 2008.

学校工科优势突出，城建学科特色鲜明，开设56个本科专业，涵盖工、管、理、文、法、艺等八大学科门类，设有18个学院，面向全国31个省（直辖市、自治区）和留学生招生，全日制在校生近2万人。学校占地面积1730亩，教学科研仪器设备总值3.02亿元，纸质藏书186万册，拥有国家级特色专业1个、省级重点学科5个，先后通过教育部本科教学工作合格评估、审核评估及多项专业评估，为国家培养了12万余名城建领域专业人才。

The university has prominent advantages in engineering and distinctive characteristics in urban construction disciplines. It offers 56 undergraduate majors covering eight disciplines including engineering, management, science, liberal arts, law, and art. It has 18 colleges, enrolling students from 31 provinces (municipalities directly under the Central Government, autonomous regions) and international students, with nearly 20,000 full-time students. The university covers an area of 1730 mu, with a total value of 302 million yuan in teaching and research instruments and equipment, and 1.86 million paper books. It has 1 national-level characteristic major and 5 provincial key disciplines. It has successively passed the qualification assessment, audit assessment of undergraduate teaching by the Ministry of Education and multiple professional assessments, and has cultivated more than 120,000 professionals in the field of urban construction for the country.
