河南警察学院是河南省唯一的省属公安本科院校，前身是1949年2月成立的中共豫西区委保卫干部训练班，历经河南省公安干部学校、河南省人民警察学校、河南公安高等专科学校等时期。2010年3月经教育部批准升格为本科院校，2012年8月合并开封警校、洛阳警校，2019年11月通过教育部本科教学合格评估，2021年被确定为河南省警务硕士学位授权重点立项培育建设单位。

Henan Police College is the only provincial public security undergraduate institution in Henan Province. Its predecessor was the Security Cadre Training Class of the Western Henan District Committee of the Communist Party of China, established in February 1949. It has gone through periods such as Henan Provincial Public Security Cadre School, Henan Provincial People's Police School, and Henan Public Security College. Approved by the Ministry of Education to be upgraded to an undergraduate institution in March 2010, it merged with Kaifeng Police School and Luoyang Police School in August 2012, passed the undergraduate teaching qualification assessment of the Ministry of Education in November 2019, and was identified as a key project cultivation unit for granting master's degrees in police affairs in Henan Province in 2021.

学院现有郑州、开封、洛阳三个校区，占地总面积1390余亩，全日制在校生5858人，教职工788人。开设侦查学、治安学、网络安全与执法等13个本科专业，其中国家级一流本科专业建设点4个，省级一流本科专业建设点4个，拥有省部级科研平台4个，是全省公安机关的重要组成部分，被誉为"中原警官的摇篮"。

The college currently has three campuses in Zhengzhou, Kaifeng, and Luoyang, covering a total area of over 1390 mu, with 5858 full-time students and 788 faculty members. It offers 13 undergraduate majors including Investigation, Public Security Studies, and Cyber Security and Law Enforcement, among which there are 4 national-level first-class undergraduate major construction sites and 4 provincial-level first-class undergraduate major construction sites. It also has 4 provincial and ministerial-level scientific research platforms and is an important part of the province's public security organs, known as "the cradle of Central Plains police officers".
