湖南科技大学潇湘学院是湖南科技大学举办、经湖南省人民政府批准、国家教育部首批确认的全日制本科独立学院，坐落于历史文化名城、一代伟人毛泽东的故乡——湖南湘潭。学院充分共享母体学校70多年的办学积淀和学术氛围，先后获得湖南省民办教育优质资源奖、全国煤炭行业五四红旗团委等奖励，在教育部独立学院办学条件专项检查评估和湖南省教育厅年度办学检查中均获好评。

Xiaoxiang College of Hunan University of Science and Technology is a full-time undergraduate independent college sponsored by Hunan University of Science and Technology, approved by the People's Government of Hunan Province, and initially confirmed by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China. It is located in Xiangtan, Hunan, a famous historical and cultural city and the hometown of the great man Mao Zedong. The college fully shares the more than 70 years of educational accumulation and academic atmosphere of its parent university. It has successively won awards such as the "Hunan Private Education Quality Resources Award" and the "National May Fourth Red Flag Youth League Committee in the Coal Industry", and has received favorable reviews in the special inspection and evaluation of the school-running conditions of independent colleges by the Ministry of Education and the annual school-running inspection by the Hunan Provincial Department of Education.

学院现有4个学部、11个教学系及3个公共课教学单位，依托母体学校优势学科设置招生专业，师资队伍中47%具有博士学位，80%以上具有硕士学位。近年来，学生在全国大学生工业设计大赛、挑战杯等赛事中获国家级奖励100余项、省部级奖励1000余人次，涌现出全国自强之星标兵、全国高校毕业生基层就业卓越奖获得者等优秀学子，人才培养质量获湖南省优秀教学成果奖。

The college currently has 4 academic divisions, 11 teaching departments, and 3 public course teaching units. It sets up enrollment majors relying on the advantageous disciplines of the parent university. Among the teaching staff, 47% have doctoral degrees and more than 80% have master's degrees. In recent years, students have won more than 100 national awards and over 1,000 provincial and ministerial awards in competitions such as the National College Student Industrial Design Competition and the "Challenge Cup". Outstanding students such as the National Model of Self-Improvement and the winner of the National Excellent Award for College Graduates' Grassroots Employment have emerged, and the quality of talent training has won the Hunan Provincial Excellent Teaching Achievement Award.
