湖南财政经济学院是一所由湖南省人民政府主办、省教育厅主管、省财政厅协管的全日制财经类本科院校，主校区位于湖南省长沙市湘江新区枫林二路139号，雷锋校区位于长沙国家高新技术产业开发区雷锋街道。学校是教育部一流本科专业建设“双万计划”高校、湖南省“双一流”建设项目应用特色学科建设高校，以经济学、管理学为主，财经特色鲜明、区域优势明显。

Hunan University of Finance and Economics is a full-time undergraduate financial and economic institution sponsored by the Hunan Provincial People's Government, administered by the Provincial Department of Education, and co-managed by the Provincial Department of Finance. Its main campus is located at No. 139 Fenglin 2nd Road, Xiangjiang New Area, Changsha, Hunan Province, and the Lei Feng Campus is situated in Lei Feng Subdistrict, Changsha National High-Tech Industrial Development Zone. It is a university under the "Double Ten Thousand Plan" for first-class undergraduate programs of the Ministry of Education and an application-oriented characteristic discipline construction university in Hunan's "Double First-Class" initiative, with distinct financial and economic characteristics and regional advantages, focusing on economics and management.

学校源于1933年创办的厚生会计讲习所，历经多次更名与发展，2010年3月升格为本科院校并定现名。现有在校学生12000余人，占地面积760多亩，设有会计学院、财政金融学院等16个二级院所，涵盖经济学、管理学、工学等8大门类50个本科专业，其中国家级一流本科专业建设点6个、省级一流本科专业建设点11个，2021年获评立项建设硕士学位授予单位。

The university traces its roots to the Housheng Accounting Training Institute founded in 1933. After multiple name changes and development stages, it was upgraded to an undergraduate institution in March 2010 and adopted its current name. It has over 12,000 students and covers an area of more than 760 mu. The university comprises 16 secondary colleges, including the School of Accounting and the School of Finance and Taxation, offering 50 undergraduate programs across 8 disciplines such as economics, management, and engineering. It boasts 6 national-level first-class undergraduate program construction sites and 11 provincial-level ones, and was approved as a master's degree-granting unit in 2021.
