湖州师范学院（Huzhou University），简称“湖师院”，位于浙江省湖州市，是一所由湖州市人民政府举办、具有优良师范传统和鲜明应用特色的综合性公办全日制普通高等院校。学校办学历史可追溯至1916年的钱塘道第三联合县立师范讲习所，1999年3月，经教育部批准，由原湖州师范专科学校、湖州师范学校和湖州教师进修学院合并组建；2000年5月，原湖州卫生学校并入；2018年获批硕士学位授予单位，2025年8月浙江省教育厅公示其拟更名为“湖州师范大学”。

Huzhou University, referred to as "Huzhou Normal College" for short, is located in Huzhou City, Zhejiang Province. It is a comprehensive public full-time ordinary institution of higher learning sponsored by the Huzhou Municipal People's Government, with a fine normal school tradition and distinct application characteristics. The school's educational history can be traced back to the Third United County Normal Training Institute of Qiantang Dao in 1916. In March 1999, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, it was formed by the merger of the former Huzhou Teachers College, Huzhou Normal School and Huzhou Teachers' Training College; in May 2000, the former Huzhou Health School was merged into it; in 2018, it was approved as a master's degree-granting unit, and in August 2025, the Zhejiang Provincial Department of Education announced that it plans to be renamed "Huzhou Normal University".

学校学科涵盖教育学、工学、医学、理学、文学等11大学科门类，设有14个二级学院及2个临床医学院，拥有8所附属医院、11所附属学校，全日制学生15000余人（含硕士研究生2200余人）。校园占地1560余亩，馆藏图书400余万册，秉承“明体达用”校训，形成了“艰苦奋斗、自强不息、包容求新、博雅笃行”的师院精神，先后荣获全国文明单位、国家语言文字推广基地、浙江省应用型建设试点示范学校等称号。

The university covers 11 disciplines including education, engineering, medicine, science, and literature, with 14 secondary colleges and 2 clinical medical colleges, 8 affiliated hospitals, and 11 affiliated schools, with more than 15,000 full-time students (including more than 2,200 master students). The campus covers an area of more than 1,560 mu, with a collection of more than 4 million books. Adhering to the school motto of "Ming Ti Da Yong" (Understanding the Essence and Applying It), it has formed the spirit of "hard work, self-improvement, inclusiveness and innovation, and erudition and practice". It has successively won the titles of National Civilized Unit, National Language Promotion Base, and Zhejiang Provincial Applied Construction Pilot Demonstration School.
