湖南幼儿师范高等专科学校是2013年经省人民政府批准、教育部备案的全日制公办普通高等学校。学校由原常德师范和桃源师范学校合并升格而成，原桃源师范由著名民主革命家宋教仁于1912年倡导创立，原常德师范始创于1947年。学校位于长江经济带、长江中游城市群、环洞庭湖生态经济圈的重要城市之一常德市，是国家教委表彰的全国先进师范、全国职业教育先进单位、全国幼教舞蹈素质与能力培训项目优秀培训基地、省小学和幼儿园教师培养基地、省教育科学学前教育研究基地、省级文明单位。

Hunan College for Preschool Education is a full-time public ordinary higher education institution approved by the Hunan Provincial People's Government and registered with the Ministry of Education in 2013. The school was formed by the merger and upgrading of the former Changde Normal School and Taoyuan Normal School. The former Taoyuan Normal School was founded in 1912 at the initiative of the famous democratic revolutionary Song Jiaoren, while the former Changde Normal School was established in 1947. Located in Changde City, a key city in the Yangtze River Economic Belt, the Middle Reaches of the Yangtze River Urban Agglomeration, and the Dongting Lake Ecological Economic Circle, the school has been commended by the State Education Commission as a National Advanced Normal School, a National Advanced Unit in Vocational Education, an Excellent Training Base for the National Preschool Education Dance Quality and Ability Training Program, a Provincial Training Base for Primary and Kindergarten Teachers, a Provincial Research Base for Preschool Education in Educational Sciences, and a Provincial Civilized Unit.

截至2023年6月，学校位于常德市职教大学城，占地549亩，新校区规划占地271亩，建筑面积19万多平方米，新校区规划建筑面积10万多平方米。设备仪器总值1.5亿元，馆藏图书113万余册，建有专业实验实训室及专业教室共93间，教学琴房367间，多媒体、语音、科学等教学设施一应俱全。现已形成以教育学为主，文学、艺术学共同发展的学科体系，开设有小学教育、学前教育、早期教育等21个大专层次专业，学前教育和艺术教育两个专业群立项为湖南省职业院校“双高”项目高水平专业群建设单位A档。

As of June 2023, the school is located in the Vocational Education University Town of Changde City, covering an area of 549 mu, with a planned new campus area of 271 mu. The building area is over 190,000 square meters, and the planned building area of the new campus is over 100,000 square meters. The total value of equipment and instruments is 150 million yuan, and the library has more than 1.13 million books. There are 93 professional experimental training rooms and professional classrooms, 367 teaching piano rooms, and complete teaching facilities such as multimedia, voice, and science. It has formed a discipline system dominated by education, with the coordinated development of literature and art. It offers 21 college-level majors including primary education, preschool education, and early education. The two professional groups of preschool education and art education have been approved as Class A construction units for the high-level professional groups of the "Double High-Level" project of vocational colleges in Hunan Province.

学校面向14省市招生，高招录取分数线一直位居全省高职高专院校前列。有全日制在校生9000多人，教工627名，其中教授26人、副教授130人、博士及在读博士20人、硕士309人，“双师型”教师245人。百年来，学校为社会输送各类人才10多万名，作家丁玲、诗人未央、教育家王一知、原副省长李友志等都是校友中的杰出代表。学校以立足湘西北、面向全省、辐射全国的办学思路，力争建成全省领先、全国一流的幼儿师范高等专科学校。

It has more than 9,000 full-time students and 627 faculty members, including 26 professors, 130 associate professors, 20 doctors and doctoral students, 309 masters, and 245 "double-qualified" teachers.
